Today, I worked my job then went home to enjoy my weekend. An hour later, I was called and told I was fired, without any reason given. I can’t even empty my locker, as they'd said they would mail my things to me. FML

Today, I went into work. After three years of working 55 hours a week, they fired me by putting the contents of my locker at the front door, with a note that said "If not picked up by 10:00 am stuff will be donated." I work the night shift. I just lost three sweaters, two pairs of shoes, $60, and my job. FML
Today, my boss fired me by locking me out of my workplace after I went out to throw out the trash. FML
Today, I returned to work after taking two days off to find I'd been fired. Why? For not being at work on those two days. Everything was agreed in writing, all trace of which has mysteriously vanished. I can't work until HR sorts it out, and nobody can tell me how long that'll take. FML

Today, on my last day of vacation with my family, and after moving my kid back home after their college graduation, I received a text message from my supervisor that said, “Hello, your services are no longer needed" and that they would pack up my desk and mail it to me. I can’t get anyone to explain why or even answer me. FML
Today, my employer fired me, less than a week before I could become permanent full-time staff. FML

Surely, they can't just suddenly fire you without a valid reason? I'd have an attorney look into the case; you might be entitled compensation from your former employer.

They still have to have just cause. If not they are still liable for unemployment claims and sometimes even lawsuits.

They don't have to provide any kind of justification. Unless there is a specific contract in place or there are union rules regarding termination, there's not much the OP can do.

You work in an "at will" employment state (most states are). They don't have to give a reason for terminating your employment, but they could still be on the hook for your unemployment, if you choose to go that route. Unless you are in a union or have specific contract negotiations regarding employment, not sure there is much you can do, legally, unless you can prove there was some form of discrimination or retaliation.
