Today, I was picking up my daughter from my ex-husband's house and his new girlfriend was there. I said to my daughter that it was time to leave and she clung to his girlfriend and said, "Mommy, I don't want to leave." She wasn't talking to me. FML

Today, my ex-husband came to pick up our two kids for his weekend with them. Seeing his new girlfriend was in the car, and desperate for conversation, I asked her name. My kids unhesitatingly blurted out, "Mom". FML
Today, as I was picking up my 7 year-old daughter at my ex-husband's house, my daughter started crying saying that she wanted to stay with Daddy forever. I asked why. She said her stepmom was a better mommy. Apparently, the woman who broke up my marriage is now a better "Mommy." FML
Today, I took my kids to the park. I saw my daughter playing with a kid who looked familiar. Turns out he was my ex’s son, whom I haven’t seen in years. I thought it was cute they played so well together, until my ex’s new girlfriend came over, screaming that I was trying to use my kid to get to her man. FML
Today, my daughter told me she wanted to divorce me. FML
Today, my youngest daughter was going through separation anxiety when I dropped her off at school. After ten minutes of me comforting her, the teacher said, "C'mon, you have to let Nan go now so you can join in with the class." Ummm, I'm her mum, not her grandparent. FML
Today, I met my ex, whom I have not seen in years, in the airport. She was with a 3 year-old girl who ran to me with open arms, happily saying, "Papa!" Overjoyed, I picked her up, hugging her back, and kissed her. My ex then condescendingly said, "She's NOT yours!" When I asked why, she said, "She calls ALL MEN 'Papa'!" FML
Today, my two year old daughter did not want to leave the toy store, when I picked her up she started screaming at the top of her lungs, "YOU'RE NOT MY DADDY!". FML
Today, my four-year-old daughter called me by her mom's new boyfriend's name. Three different times. FML
Today, my ex-husband introduced our daughter to her "new mommy". That's the third time this year. FML
Today, I went to pick up my daughter from preschool. When I got there, I ran to give her a hug. She screamed and ran away. FML

I honestly would blame the father, my mom tries to get me to treat her boyfriend like a father. What I'm saying is it's more likely that your ex is pushing for his daughter to see her as a mother figure instead of her ACTUALLY seeing her as a mother figure. Because she's young, and her parents just got divorced she's waaay more vulnerable to believe what her parents say. So please, kill your ex.

You ought not to blame the father or the girlfriend, people. I highly doubt he told anyone to do anything, I know plenty of kids with split parents, it's natural for them to like one household more then another.

It's natural for her to call someone else mommy in a divorce. She may think the girlfriend has been a better mommy then you, or has been around her more. IDK the situation, but I know divorceses aren't clean and they aren't easy, especially for the children. You should be happy that your daughter excepts her. My mom married a guy I didn't like. At all, which really sucked. I wish she had married someone I felt comfortable calling "Dad". Quit being selfish. You're still her mother.

i am speaking from the perspective of a new gf, and you need to realize that that is a hard position too, especially if it's a serious relationship. By having your daughter call her mom she is not trying to usurp your position, she knows that you are the mother. And you can not blame the "i don't want to leave" comment on her without knowing the entire situation, ask your daughter why she said that, did you ever consider YOU may have done something?
