Wow. There are a lot of people here uneducated about herpes. First of all, in most cases, it hardly does anything -- the stigma is worse than the actual virus. Second, there can be months or even years between outbreaks. If he didn't have an outbreak, there would be no sores, therefore she wouldn't notice. Obviously, she should immediately get tested, but if he did not have an outbreak at any point when they had sex, there's a much lower chance that it was passed on to her. Herpes really isn't a big deal, though. Most of the time, it's dormant. When you have an outbreak, you'll get sores and sometimes some flu-like symptoms, vaguely like you're sick. You take some acyclovir till it goes away, and that's that. Till next outbreak...
