Today, as I was texting a friend, I was going to warm up some cold pizza. As I got finished with a text I put the pizza in the microwave and set the timer. After the timer ran out, I opened the door and smelled burnt plastic. Turns out phones aren't meant to be in the microwave. FML

Today, I tried to reheat some leftover pizza in the microwave but forgot to take the plastic wrap off. The microwave filled with smoke, and the plastic melted onto the pizza. I ate burnt plastic-flavored pizza for lunch, because pizza is pizza and I couldn't bring myself to through it away. FML
Today, I woke up after putting my child to bed. Drowsy, I stumbled down to the kitchen to make a mug cookie. I read a recipe on my phone, and put a knob of butter in a cup to melt in the microwave. I put my phone in the microwave and turned it on for 30 seconds, and didn't realize what I'd done until I smelt burning plastic. FML
Today, in a rush, I attempted to microwave leftover pizza slices. Unbeknownst to me, I accidentally hit the 'defrost' button, turning the pizza into a lukewarm soggy mess. I guess pizza should never be reheated in 'thaw mode'. FML
Today, I read a seemingly serious article online about giving your smartphone some extra charge by putting it in the microwave for one minute. My phone is now fried. FML
Today, I was trying to cook a pizza for lunch at my in-laws. I preheated the oven and took my dog out to go potty. I come back in to find the house filled with smoke, the detector going off, and a fire in the oven. Apparently, my mother-in-law left a tray of glass candle holders in it. FML
Today, I was heating up my rig and about to do a dab when the rig piece fell out onto my hotel blanket, melting it, and getting plastic on the rig. Then I went to fan the smoke detector and I grabbed a pizza box, not thinking about if it was empty or not, and pizza flew everywhere as I fanned. FML
Today, I put my phone in the dishwasher by accident. I'd left it on the kitchen counter with a bunch of dirty stuff and, distracted, loaded it in with the plates. I only realized it when the dishwasher started making weird noises. My phone was soaked and blinking with bubbles inside. It didn’t survive. FML
Today, I put leftovers in the microwave, pressed two minutes, and walked away. I came back to discover I'd started the kitchen timer instead. I'd spent two minutes waiting for food that had never even started warming up. FML
Today, I microwaved leftovers in a container I didn’t check. The lid wasn’t microwave-safe. It melted, fused to the food, and now I have what looks like a modern art sculpture instead of lunch. My coworker walked up, looked at it, and said, “Microplastics in our food are getting out of hand.” FML
Today, I've come to the conclusion that my phone addiction is getting out of control after I typed my PIN code into the microwave. FML

I got out of the car and my phone was on top of my leftover box from the restaurant. So, I put away my leftovers like usual and then realized about half an hour later that I couldn't find my phone. Haha! Took a LONG time to find it. I blame being pregnant, my brain cells weren't working correctly.

My phone has probably been in the fridge too just because I set it down whenever I'm doing something that requires two hands rather than pocketing it. The fridge has nice flat shelves, seems like a fine place to put something down.

Well it depends on the type of plastic, some melt quickly, but the plastic used for phones are designed to withstand high heats, and they are made of a much higher melting point plastic :) But thanks for challenging me, appreciate it.

Microwaves actually work by exciting conductive materials...such as water, or the metal in the phone. It would get hot, and then melt the plastic and burn anything else in the phone.

Yeah, but if they were only warming up the cold pizza, chances are it'd only have been in a minute or two cus that's all it takes. I'm guessing it'd take a lot longer for it to explode x_x I've accidentally left a fork on my plate reheating stuff before, and I know that damages the microwave...but I don't think I'd be so dumb as to put my phone in there. I'm guessing you weren't too fussed about getting a reply from your friend otherwise you'd have noticed :3
