Today, I asked my mother-in-law to watch after my baby daughter. When I returned home, my baby's ears were pierced. FML

I would probably flip my shit. She had no right to do that to your child, especially without you or your husbands permission!

I don't understand why people want to force metal through a child's ears. Let them decided if they want to do that when they're older.

Take them out and then unleash into your mother in law. All I know, is if it were my kid, heads would roll.

If they do take the earrings out, the child will have scars from it. If the child then decides to get them repierced in the future it will hurt more. Honestly, it would be better to leave them pierced until the child is old enough to decided if that's what they want or not.

#79 not true, theyre very recent so the holes will close up pretty quickly. My mum had mine pierced three times as a baby without my dads consent, he always took them out because he wanted me to have the choice, mine are closed now and you cant even tell theyve ever been pierced.

I had mine pierced when I was a baby 2 although I would have been mad if that was my child but I'm sure she didn't mean 2.

She didn't mean to? Did she fall on the baby with a piercing gun in her hand?

how the **** does one accidentally get their ears pierced?

happens so often causally walking along them boom I accidentally peirce someone's ears. could happen to anyone really......dumbass

I totally understand that piercing a baby's ears is "no big deal," but doing it to someone else's child? That is honestly too far. It was not her child, so she had no right to do something like that.

Why do people do this? What's next, tongue studs, **** rings?

I... I don't think **** ring was the word you were looking for here...

I think the male equalvlent would be circumcision. Both needless and painful. Both forgotten after a while. Both should be left up to the parents and no one else.

I meant the penis piercings not the sex toy lol

Another pushy mother-in-law who completely disregards the feelings of her daughter-in-law

Jesus Christ. That's awful. You could probably charge her with something.

Follow Up pls after you talk to your Mother in law

It always bothered me when people did this to babies. When it comes to piercings shouldn't you wait till the child is old enough to choose for themselves if they want piercings or not. Or am I missing something?

Some parents do it as a way to make their baby look more "feminine" and avoid them being mistaken for male. My mum had mine pierced when I was a few months old and I don't personally care about it. The child can always remove them later if they don't want them. However it's the parents choice not the mother in law who is only babysitting.
