Today, the boss returned from vacation. While he was gone we thought it would be a great idea to fill the water cooler with margaritas. Even after rinsing it we still have lime flavored water. Needless to say we got a company memo about appropriate office behavior. FML

People at my office sometimes have a drink at their desk and the whole art department goes off to a bar every Thursday afternoon, but tampering with company property like that isn't cool. What if there are people who want water? What if there are teenagers working as temps? Bring My Daughter to Work day?

@43 i assume "we" represents the employed body. otherwise it would be "some of us" would it not? so those who want water clearly would have had other ways of getting it. perhaps it was a planned thing given that vacations generally last a while. what if there are teenagers working as temps? uh, then id imagine they wouldnt have gone through with it and the whole thing was a reasonably thought out process. not all companies have teenagers working there, and even if they did, not really that much of an issue so long as theyre monitored (though itd explain the memo as more of a technicality than something to be heeded), bring my daughter to work day? are you kidding? i think we can assume there were no underage people present, and the only issue that arose as far as we know is management was unimpressed with the alcohol in the water cooler. you can "what if" all you like. clearly there are circumstances in which it would be inappropriate, this however does not appear to be one of them.

@54 no ill never reach a management position. my career path doesnt have managers. the closest i can get to it is running my own private practice, doubt thatd happen anytime soon anyway, id much rather work government sector at the moment. regardless, the environment would be completely different, so drinking alcohol while seeing patients would be a no go. also, i doubt my high water intake would affect my ability to oversee those working beneath me.

The people who submit FML's on here about doing stupid things like forwarding emails about their sex lives to colleagues and filling up water coolers with alcohol expecting everyone to side with them need to grow up... you're lucky to even have a job so why you'd pull a high school prank like that is beyond me.

#25-water coolers are expensive. The jugs always get replaced, but the alcohol probably flavored the plastic inside the cooler itself, in the nozzle and whatnot.
