Rain stops play

By Wilf - 22/02/2013 15:48 - Australia - Perth

Today, the arts company I work for cancelled our 8 pm sold-out outdoor performance at 7:30 due to rain, and will have to reticket 550 patrons. I'm the only person in the office trained in ticketing. It stopped raining 10 minutes after we cancelled it. FML

Why don't we take the concert, and push it somewhere else?!

maybe the stage was too wet to perform (safely) on it

Mopping ? It's possible to dry it.

My question is how hard is it to learn to ticket? Im almost positive you can train a monkey to ticket people, with enough training.

I think the OP is more saying FML about how they are the sole ticketer who will have to deal with 550 angry people, not that it isn't hard.

Rain rain go away. Come again another day.

I always heard it as: "I don't care, teddy bear, you forgot your underwear". Unless that's a different rhyme.?(:

Can can can you do the can can can you do the...

Noor that made me burst out laughing!! Haha

You are really really attractive. Can I be your lover? So I can do your bidding

52, I don't know whether to dislike your comment or not. If I do, 3's confidence may go down; however if I don't, I'm somewhat supporting your attempt to get a girl over FML.

Ummm It doesn't work that way. You do realize it's for 550 people, right?

You do realize he was making a joke and was reciting a line from Spongebob, right?

The idea may be stupid, but it's also dumb.

Oops! I didn't see it in quotes so I had no idea where it came from. :P Funny, I watch Sponge Bob too but must have missed that episode.

38- You must have also missed the Internet. Also, does it really take quotations marks to make you recognize that it's a quote from somewhere?

If I don't know it's a quote? Then yeah. How else would I know? :P Btw that wasn't me that thumbed you down. I never do.

T'was thee episode with the Alaskan BULL worm.

Bad idea, guys. If you push the concert somewhere else, a giant worm could possibly fall on top of it. That lesson can only be learned the hard way.

Your company might have wanted to check the weather channel.. If the rain was due to stop or lessen a lot, it could have been postponed for a few minutes/an hour

This indeed. You should always postpone an event before canceling it.

But the worst is when you postpone and then cancel!

Hey, it's good to get experience in stuff :3 And in the future it will probably be easier since you know how to do it better, so it's a win-win situation, and it is your job after all. And that is a excellent way to show off that you may be worth a raise in the future

(world is going to end) Keev: well we still have a little while, so let's take this time to rejoice in the fact that we get to have this human existence, and the beauty of life and its experiences. And who knows what lies beyond? You would be a god-tier motivational speaker/hotline.

Talk about bad timing. Better get started on calling everyone back.

Doesn't he know? The show must go on!

Sounds like someone found the rain dancer and shoo'ed them away in time. That or mother nature is trolling you.

I've worked guest services at an amusement park, and the same thing happened every time it lightly sprinkled. I hope the guests were understanding and didn't give you too many problems OP
