Today, I was trying to do a nice thing and let my friend's mom borrow my car. I went to move my mom's car that was parked behind me so that I could get my car out, and then proceeded to back into my dad's new company car. FML
Today, I accidentally crashed my mom's car into my dad's car. FML
Today, after failing my learner's licence twice in the previous weeks, I finally passed. As I got home, I went for a drive with my dad. I smashed my mum's car into an old lady's fence and ended up in her backyard. FML
Today, my mom drove my car and had to make a U-turn on a narrow street. Instead of slowing down, she sped up to turn, running off the road and denting my car. To make things worse, she blamed me for not giving her good directions, then followed that up with, "It's not that bad." FML
Today, I let my son take my car out for a spin, since he just got his licence. He didn't make it out of our street before totaling it. FML
Today, I was in a parking lot, doing donuts in my dad's car to rizz some baddies. It was going great until some dumbass got in the way and got launched twenty feet. I panicked, lost control of the car, and smashed into a decorative tree. FML
Today, my son thought he'd take my new car for a drive without permission. He accelerated straight into a tree, reversed into a lamppost and then accelerated again into the neighbours car. FML
Today, I decided to drive my mothers Bentley. She is out of town and told me not to go near the car. Being 17, I didn't listen. As I was backing out the driveway, I was hit by an SUV, seriously damaging my moms car. Who was driving the SUV? My mom, coming home early. FML
Today, I borrowed my dad's car to run a quick errand, which he never lets me do. I thought I’d got away with it until he got home and started yelling. I forgot, dad always reverses into driveways, while I prefer to drive straight in, and I'd parked his car facing the wrong way. FML
Today, as I was driving in reverse, I hit my boyfriend's mom's car. I met her for the first time while giving her my information. FML

Well, some stunts are done by trucks with car bodies attached, but drifting motor sports are very real, and actually performed in those movies.

You just need some solid RWD, a firm grip from the tires, and enough horses to break traction, assuming you can either disable traction control, or just generally don't have it.

Going a little wide with a rwd's tail is easy, and something anyone could do. Although noone would agree it's a drift. And trying it out safely is essential... Wrecking your own car on a empty parking lot is bad, hurting someone else while acting cool is idiocy at its worst. Boy racer syndrome.

I agree. He sounds like the asshats that street race in my area and do donuts in the middle of heavy traffic. I also almost got hit by one of them. I was on the sidewalk, where cars shouldn't be. Op should be lucky that he didn't hit somebody and I hope his mother does some serious grounding.

Even though some people are okay with that, there are a lot that aren't, and, since you are speaking on a public website, you can't really know that everyone is okay with it. 2.
