that's not your fault, maybe his true feelings were coming out;) lol
It's his fault for being drunk, but of course there are certain ways a girl can dress that communicate invitation. (It's been observed in neurological tests that a woman letting a man see certain things is, for the male brain, tantamount to a woman receiving sexual *touch*.)
Hey they could have pulled a StepBrother and banged in the next room."Her back went out so I pulled a yoga move on her."

YDI for dressing like a skank

I agree. YDI if u r in a relationship u shouldn't dress slutty in public. that pisses me off.
Who said that she was in a relationship? People who are in relationships shouldn't hit on other people. THAT pisses me off.
It's his fault he has no self-control. She should be able to dress however she wants.

How are we trolls for saying that she deserves it?
If you dress like a slut, you deserve men doing that kind of stuff.
Seriously people, are you all feminists or something?
Are you trying to start an argument Miss MacOSXpert? LOL.
#59 You might want to wake up and look at reality.
1) The OP was going to a family dinner. From that and from her surprise in having the old woman call her a skank, we can easily surmise that it's unlikely she was actually dressed skanky. Most likely far less than all the teens at the mall...
Besides, have you never seen the things that get some older people call someone a skank for?
2) A feminist is someone who wants equality of sexes, not someone who claims women are superior.
Either you are failing at English, or you are a disgusting person who things women should be inferior, from the way you implied us being "feminists" would be shocking...
Oh well done #59, you got one bite so far...
no matter what you say about the elderly and feminism, OP was attending a family dinner. There was no reason for her to dress in any way that would be seen as provocative or indecent. If a woman dresses in a way that lets other people assume that she is a "skank", she deserves to be called out like that.
also, fidelity FAIL on the part of OP's step-sister's husband. i hope he didn't have to drive any family members back home
she was wearing jeans and a hoodie... would you really call her a skank for that?
Clearly this is obvious from the post. Did you also read about the flying superhero bear and the talking waffles?
and a very obvious troll is even more
obvious
Guess #79 didn't see post #21 before commenting ...
she never said that she dressed like a slut did she? her angry stepmum said it so that her precious daughters husband was blameless.
i did see the comment from the OP posted below.... maybe you didn't
Tell your step-mom that maybe it wouldn't happen if her daughter put out.
No, it wouldn't have happened if the daughter was smart enough to find a nice man that doesn't care just about sex.
Seriously girls, how hard is it to keep it in your pants until you find a guy that's not a typical jerk?
off topic but you're incredibly beautiful!
Hey ! Who said you could get out of your Medieval Hanging Cage? Get back in there.. *slams*
yeah just look at lady gaga
Were you dressed like Snooki or J-Wow?
wow thanks for stickin with blood ma

Your step-mother is a bitch. D:
I think pics would be in order to make a proper judgement, please forward your skankiest pictures.
Don't worry, I like my women a little on the trashy side, I'll know a skank when I see it.

Try dressing respectable next year? FYL, but YDI.
#12 - On 01/25/2010 at 10:49am by BurpusMe
Yeah, same goes for all those girls who get raped every year. It's totally their fault for wearing fashionable clothes, I mean, men can't be expected to have any self-control. /sarcasm
hey now. im pretty sure men get raped too, somewhere...
Yeah, they do,
but only when they dress skanky.
#12 What part of JEANS AND HOODIE do you fail to comprehend???? Check out the OP's comment. Only her hands and face were showing!! How is that skanky, even if you are a taliban???
#40 - Flirting and rape are not the same thing. FYL for thinking it's the same thing.
#68 - what part of the original post mentioned JEANS & HOODIE? FYL for being illiterate.
#91 - On 01/26/2010 at 1:46am by BurpusMe
# 91, I'd like to direct your attention to comment 21, in which the OP states she infact wore a pair of jeans and a hoodie to a family dinner. I suggest reading the comments before posting your own next time.
FML for being illiterate.... well why don't YOU read a little more. FYL

YDI
For what?? Are you a taliban??
Only her hands and face were showing!! How is that skanky???
Tell Stepmonster to wake up. There's a whole world full of women out there who --OMG-- show their ankles. Looks like her son-in-law can't be trusted off his chain. Or even when he's still on it.

Yeah, I'm sure whatever happened can't possibly have been your precious step-brother-in-law's fault. Generally, men are never at fault no matter what happens. The woman could've dressed differently, kept her mouth shut and stayed in the kitchen. Obviously. Jeez, some people are unbelievable! As someone already said, I think you should talk to your step-sister about it some time soon when your step-mom isn't around.

Obviously your step-brother's fault for not being able to handle his alcohol, but damn! if your step-mom says you dress skanky, you certainly weren't wearing a heavy winter coat and burlap pants. Why would you dress like that to a family dinner?
Why in the world would you ever wear a "heavy winter coat and burlap pants" to dinner?
Why in the world would anyone think youthink saying wearing "a heavy winter coat and burlap pants" was anything other than a joke?
What's your problem, #17 ? Are you a taliban??
Only her hands and face were showing!! How is that skanky???
Are you going to say that to everyone Moemoemoe?
Even if she was dressed skanky it doesn't give him the right to be a horny drunk and hit on his sister-in-law. FYL
In soviet russia, skank dresses like you!
Sorry to burst your bubble, but why would anyone in their right mind dress proactively for a FAMILY dinner? It's not like I was trying to impress anyone in JEANS and a HOODIE. Forgive me if my hands were my face were showing, better put my ski mask and gloves on so he doesn't get the wrong impression.
No, sounds like time for a burqa. And it'll complement your BiL & SM's attitudes perfectly.
Sounds like your step-mom is a bitter bitch. FYL, but same for your sister. She's the one who has a jerk of a husband. If he acts that way in front of everyone he's probably sleeping around on her. If you're close with her I'd have a talk with her if I were you. Your dad should probably man up and stick up for you and tell your step-mom off. No reason she should talk to you like that.
Skanks in hoodies, that be a new one. Well, maybe not, it does get cold in New Jersey. But your step-mom is a bitch.
On the plus side, you're clearly more attractive than your step-sister. I'm guessing you're not into her husband though. You should probably have a talk with him to prevent this happening in the future.
I KNEW it had to be some sort of clothing like that! Thank you for confirming it OP. :)
The stepmother is indeed a complete moron.
It's obvious that people don't dress skanky for family gatherings, but I can't believe the amount of 12 years olds on this site saying crap like "YDI" and calling you names merely based on the filth that stupidity suggests to their minds. It's infuriating, the level of idiocy.
hahaha neither, you need double d's to attempt things like that. not all of us jersey girls are guidettes, thank god.
your step mom was being a bitch. and tell his wife to control him. btw, why the hell didn't your husband do anything about that?
mabye she doesn't have a husband?
#27 - On 01/25/2010 at 11:40am by Anne553
Personally, I'd really like to know what happened after. That's why I love it when OP's comment, because FML's never give us the after story.
It wouldn't matter if you showed up in a g-string. If your step-sister's husband can't control himself around his family, who knows what he does away from his wife. Obviously HE is the problem, if he hits on family, step-in-law or not. Tell your step- mother to f off.
A Jersey girl dressing like a skank? Isn't that redundant?
I missed the whole Jersey angle, once again I will reference one of my favorite t-shirts.
You know the difference between Jersey Girls and trash right?
Trash gets picked up. ;D

YDI, for dressing like a skank, duuuuuuuuuuuuh
I thank you for showing your ignorance and idiocy.
"Bitches love my new haircut, and if they don't, they're f***in' skanks! F***in skanks!"
"Jaegerbombs. Jaegerbombs..."
This made me lol, and sign up so that I could post. The OP didn't say that she was dressed skanky. Her rude step-mom made that judgment call. She could have simply had on a fitted dress, short skirt...etc. What someone else deems trashy, may not be the case to another person. Either way, I am always amazed at how easily guys get off the hook when they screw up! If she's smart, the OP will skip the next family dinner...lol.
You dress like a skank?
... Got any pics?..
so where in jersey? I'll come treat you better =)...and
It's amazing how we can see evidence of "rape culture" in many of these comments, be them made in humour or not.
I am horrified by the responses of victim blaming that is going on here. What a woman wears has no bearing on how they deserved to be treated. Any unwanted sexual advances IS sexual harrassment, and is never your fault.
I hope that you don't take what your step-mother says to heart; perhaps she is just putting up a defence because it is easier for her to blame others than acknowledge that this "man" is an embarrassment to her.
Be strong!
I disagree. If you walk into a store or restaurant wearing a suit or business clothes, you will get better service (because you will be expected to spend more). Your dress is a huge indicator of how you might behave in certain situations. A woman has the right to dress as skanky as she wants, however she should expect the consequences of these actions. (I withhold judgment on the OP since I do not know what she was wearing)
On the other hand, a woman dressing in completely appropriate and/or business-like attire can still be sexually harassed.
I agree to the extent that it is clearly not her fault.
But I take issue with your comment that "any unwanted sexual advance is sexual harassment."
So if a guy hits on you and you think he's hot, it's not sexual harassment but if
you're not attracted to him it is? Good job fail boat.
#55 - On 01/25/2010 at 2:18pm by Emrysa
You missed the point. It's not sexual harassment for a man to come up and ask to buy a woman a drink, of course. But if she politely declines or makes it clear she isn't interested, and he persists, it is harassment. Once is enough and a respectable man should back off. If he thinks she's just playing hard to get and decides to be an asshole then, yeah, it's harassment and rude as hell.
In other news, married people should not hit on other people! Why the hell does anyone think this woman deserves it? She could be naked for all I care; he SHOULD NOT be hitting on someone else.
No woman deserves to have the "consequence" of being made to feel humiliated and uncomfortable just because of what she wears. I cannot emphasize this enough. I am trying to argue that this implication is key to this idea of victim blaming that often occurs with sexual harrassment or assault.
I realize that I wasn't clear about sexual harassment. It is a subjective experience more than a definition, and 55 I didn't mean to imply it in that manner. 57 does a better job explaining what I wanted to say. It is a sensitive issue and sometimes the boundaries blur. However, I think it is important for men (and women) to be receptive to the other party's reactions, so that they are not causing pressure or passing a boundary that they shouldn't be crossing. Women, men, transfolk, should receive the treatment and respect they deserve, regardless of what they wear on the outside.

YDI for saying proceeded
Whether she was dressed as a skank or not is not important. What's important is that he was not only disrespecting the OP but also his wife by coming on to another woman. A grown woman has every right to dress as she pleases just like a grown man does provided it's not indecent such as wearing only your underwear in public. However, a married man has no right to come onto another woman even if she was dressed provocatively.
She was wearing jeans and a hoodie. Clearly, such a "skanky" dress, so inappropriate for a family gathering, huh?
Only her hands and face were showing! Not even a taliban should find that skanky.
It was an easy guess that she wasn't actually dressing skanky, from the way things were worded anyway, but since people have difficulty thinking clearly, luckily the OP showed up and gave more info. So there. jeans and hoodie. Shocking, no?
Too many negative votes, comment buried. Show the comment.
on the cool u should have had more respect for sis by covering up the goods!
You must be from a taliban country. She was wearing JEANS AND A HOODIE. The only way she could have covered even more would be if she wore gloves and a sky mask at the table!!
that bitch!!!! she was jealous of you
you should pay someone to act drunk
You should pay some one to act drunk make passes at your mom-in-law
the OP commented and said she was wearing jeans and a hoodie. all of this skank talk is kinda moot. tell your step-sister to keep her husband on a leash.
Stay as far away from that group as losers as you can. You will be missing absolutely nothing!
ok... has anyone read the OP comment??? SHE WAS WEARING JEANS AND HOODIE! come on people, now is that skanky? really???
Who's fault was it that he was drunk? His
Who couldn't exercise self control? Him
Even if you did dress skanky, still his fault.
Just keepin' it all in the family.... hee hee my opinion is that the step-mom has insecurities with the OP, probably to do with the father's affection for his bio-daughter.... OP sry to hear.... hope you are able to still get father-daughter time w/o the 'step-mom from hell' getting in the way!
that would be really embarassing
ur step mum must hate you.
or she's just a plain insensitive bitch.
It all comes down to how people define what kind of wardrobe appears to be "skanky" For all I know, she could be well dressed, but showing a little bit of cleavage. And if so, what's wrong with that? Her husband is a complete moron for being intoxicated. The Step Mom is also a moron for taking his side.
Are they editing submissions again? Lots of people are saying she was wearing jeans and a hoodie but i don't see where it states that. 2 things OP :
1) dysfunctional family
2) you live in new jersey
FYL indeed
The OP has posted several comments in this thread. One of which states what she was wearing.
That's when you remind the bitch that its the evil step mother that always dies horribly...
#92 - On 01/26/2010 at 1:51am by BloodFaerie
If I were you I would tell your step mom that maybe her daughter dresses like a skank and THAT'S why the guy married her.

YDI for dressing like a skank.
Try looking at the threads, especially at #21 before making a reply.
She could be right, you know....
Today, I read a wack ass FML posting. FML
Look hon, if you dress slutty then you'll get such reactions. Not saying that he isn't an ass, but you couldn't expect anything else.
Don't dress like that for family events for chrissake.
However, if you weren't dressed like a skank, your mom's just being a b*tch.
Tell her to go to hell.
#99 - On 01/26/2010 at 4:10am by worldpeace
'nonchalantly' my arse, YDI for going to a family party dressed like a ho
yes u should be more considerate towards mens sexual urges do not dress provocatively your asking for trouble
hmm you can wear whatever you want. the guy was intoxicated and you should have slapped him.
and I almost forgot. your step mother would of course take your step sister's side.
step mothers can be evil.
