Today, I got a new job. I'm 26 and I left an amazing job to move back to be around my family. I have no choice but to take this job. I will be placing my finger in a dead turkeys ass, cutting open its stomach, and ripping out its guts. 15 per minute. FML

I agree, your life sucks (15889) - you totally deserved it (5840)

you are cutting out it is stomach?

maybe you'd find it easier to get a job if you knew when to use correct punctuation

#53 - On 11/07/2009 at 5:44pm by AlexZB

some people get confused with the it's and its, if an apostrophe can be used as possession then it's a fair mistake to make, and it's the fucking internet, doesn't mean he deserves it

#58 - On 11/07/2009 at 9:00pm by raNDMGUy

Lol, i love how #53 is being a... punctuation nazi? Even though they can't bother to use periods or capitalize

#61 - On 11/07/2009 at 11:55pm by nazooer

It's fixed! ;-)

#62 - On 11/08/2009 at 12:23am by RachelTM (FML Staff)

Better than sticking your finger up a live turkey's ass, cutting open its stomach and ripping out its guts.

#66 - On 11/08/2009 at 3:21am by narks

Impressive....

#2 - On 11/07/2009 at 8:43am by rc024

in this economy ANY job is. Stop complaining!

#24 - On 11/07/2009 at 10:58am by Sun_Kissed18

That and OP freaking CHOSE this job over his/her terrific and fabulous job. Maybe they could've waited for a different opportunity. Either way, OP, you made the decision all on your own, so shut the fuck up.

#43 - On 11/07/2009 at 2:38pm by americayay

Agreed, you chose to left you "amazing" job and took the only one.....so shut up and open turkeys. YDI.

#77 - On 11/10/2009 at 3:17pm by Aldebaran

I'd never leave a good job just to return to family. A good job is the basis for a happy, thus healthy, life. I'm not a workaholic. So YDI.

Unless there's a family member that couldn't move and needs you to care for.

#3 - On 11/07/2009 at 8:46am by hoschiadedodi

You left your good job to be with your family. It was your decision so harden the fuck up.

#4 - On 11/07/2009 at 8:55am by Peroxide

I'm not going to say you deserve it ... but it is your fault. It was your decision. My family (I.E my parents and sisters) live VERY far from me. Like on a different continent far. I think of going back to them all the time. Life would be soooo much easier, but I don't because if I did I would have to get a job about as crappy as the one that you just got thus wasting my education and opportunities.

I see your point it is tough without your family, but sometimes you just gotta stick it out.

#5 - On 11/07/2009 at 9:11am by unFmyLife

And in Missouri, way to go. Man (or woman) up, take a deep breath and take the plunge into those turkeys. At least you have a halfway decent college football team in Mizzou to watch.

#6 - On 11/07/2009 at 9:13am by pawpaw

Too many negative votes, comment buried. Show the comment.

The phrase "15 per minute" is not a sentence. Oh, and the choice was yours, so YDI.

#7 - On 11/07/2009 at 9:15am by blastvortex

bitch please. this is the inter-webs.

#38 - On 11/07/2009 at 12:56pm by IgniteMe28

At least you'll have a fun conversation starter at Thanksgiving.

#8 - On 11/07/2009 at 9:16am by Soup

the last sentence should've been "i'm vegan." xD

#9 - On 11/07/2009 at 9:16am by crazyjack

haha I would never even put in an application for that job, let alone quit a good job for it. (Vegetarian (: )

#13 - On 11/07/2009 at 9:46am by EqualycrazyyJen

its =/= it's

#10 - On 11/07/2009 at 9:20am by BeeSkwaird

happy thanksgiving. It probably sucks but hey, someones gotta do it

#11 - On 11/07/2009 at 9:29am by Einstein714

My job is pretty much that - it aint so bad after the first couple of times.

#12 - On 11/07/2009 at 9:32am by greengrass12

A guy who can't discern between "it's" and "its" doesn't deserve a better job than this.

#14 - On 11/07/2009 at 9:50am by Fop

On the bright side maybe you can meet Sarah Palin Lol

#15 - On 11/07/2009 at 9:53am by Cristaderzi

YDI. It was your choice to move back. Deal with it. Unless one of your family members needs care, it was a completely uneccessary move.

#16 - On 11/07/2009 at 9:54am by PhillyFox

Hey FOP! the guy just lost a GREAT job to be with the people he loves, & got a shitty job, i think he has the right to make one TINY little grammer mistake no one cares about anyway.. Sorry dude, that must really suck..

#17 - On 11/07/2009 at 10:01am by bishopp

No, fucktard, he voluntarily left that great job. There's a difference. Seriously, this is the worst, whiniest FML I've seen in some time.

"Today, the choices I made turned out EXACTLY AS EVERYBODY THOUGHT THEY WOULD. FML."

#20 - On 11/07/2009 at 10:31am by SheriffBart

That's what you get for being a pussy who can't stand to be away from mommy and daddy. I never would have taken a shitty job like that just to be around family.

#18 - On 11/07/2009 at 10:19am by blueknight1st

If that's the only job in the whole of the area where your family lives you were qualified to do... Then you pretty much suck.

#19 - On 11/07/2009 at 10:28am by Rejectofsociety9

If your old job was that great, regular visits shouldn't have been a problem. If you really want to live near your family, at least have the prudence to find a new job before leaving your old one. Perhaps you'll find something better suited to your skills when the economy picks up, but until then have fun with the turkeys.

#21 - On 11/07/2009 at 10:39am by cthulhu1138

i completely disagree with the notion that you have no choice. you always had the choice to stay at your "stellar" job but you CHOSE to leave. Furthermore, you CHOSE to take this particular job, therefore, this is all your own making so STFU and embrace the choices that YOU made. Oh yeah, YDI if you didnt pick that up already

#22 - On 11/07/2009 at 10:42am by sportsnut

Well, at least you can use your new job skills on your inbred family members. A real win-win.

#23 - On 11/07/2009 at 10:55am by FarSide

Your family was obviously worth it to you, so quit whining.

#25 - On 11/07/2009 at 11:03am by aback

oh well at least you can bake your own turkey on thanksgiving. they might even give you a free turkey just for the day :)

#26 - On 11/07/2009 at 11:04am by redcherries90

You always have a choice.

#27 - On 11/07/2009 at 11:04am by arissia

Unless there's someone in your family sick or dying - or something equally trying - why the hell would you give up an "amazing" job just to be near the nest you're supposed to grow up and leave? Why do so many people fear independence? Seriously - unless you're caring for someone at home, start your own life doing something you love in a place that makes you happy. That's what your family raised you to do....or should've.

#28 - On 11/07/2009 at 11:08am by Mr_Eated

It must be this. Why else? I moved to care for a family member, but found a comparable job to the one I left. The sad part was leaving friends and a sophisticated city culture to live in ThugCentral. For family we do things, but taking a job that drastically underscores your work potential is either plain moronic or a personal crisis a la 'American Beauty'.

#35 - On 11/07/2009 at 12:25pm by mercyFML

You said it Mr_Eater.

#36 - On 11/07/2009 at 12:33pm by lostfaithinpppl

Unless someone in your family for whom you care very much needed help and you were the only one available to help them, I really can't understand why you did this. C'mon, you're 26 - isn't it time you cut the umbilical cord? You made the decision to leave your job while being fully aware of the economical problems the entire world is facing..... Stop complaining and take responsibility for your own actions

#29 - On 11/07/2009 at 11:18am by shalizzz

Was your old "amazing" job sticking your fingers in a LIVE turkey's ass?

#30 - On 11/07/2009 at 11:23am by FerrariCake

Double ass penetration? Nonono.. triple.. quadruple.. ass penetration..

It's a mouthful of awesome!

#31 - On 11/07/2009 at 11:36am by Yooh_Plus_Meh

Lol! FYL!

#32 - On 11/07/2009 at 11:38am by MYLIFEFFINGSUCK

YDI. it was your choice all the way. I would not leave a good job to be close to my family, if you hate your job you are probably gonna be a bitchy person most of them time. especially in this economy, i think it will be funny when you get laid off/fired cause they don't need the extra help anymore.

#33 - On 11/07/2009 at 11:42am by KarasuFyre

In this economy...sheesh you are lucky just to have a job even if it means violating animals. How sad is that?!

#34 - On 11/07/2009 at 11:48am by Erindub

if i was you.. i'd start dealing drugs!

j/k

#37 - On 11/07/2009 at 12:34pm by Wet_Dream

its good to be around family but dont forget they wont support you forever
you have to make sure you have a job that matches your current job or exceeds it
before you make a decision like thsi

1 every 4 seconds? Thats impressively fast.

#41 - On 11/07/2009 at 1:35pm by Brooklynxman

The worst part is that it gives you a raging erection every four seconds!

When do you think you'll get promoted to fingering live turkeys?

#42 - On 11/07/2009 at 2:07pm by perdix

Awful, can you get your old job back?

#44 - On 11/07/2009 at 2:42pm by petals

Nothing better than being close to family huh?
I'd do the same. I mean getting a job close to my family... not fingering turkeys.
lulz
you did good man

#46 - On 11/07/2009 at 3:18pm by longoria13

be glad you have a job.

#47 - On 11/07/2009 at 3:20pm by Littlerunner

I'm confused. Do you mean 15 turkeys per minute, or 15 dollars per minute? If it's the first, then you shouldn't have taken the job, if it's the second, you're making $900 an hour!

#48 - On 11/07/2009 at 3:29pm by alex_vik

Today, my sister got electrocuted, then had her neck cut open. I saw her bleed to death, then a guy came and stuck his finger up her ass, sliced open her stomach, and pulled out her guts. I'm 120 turkeys behind her. My turn to die is in a few minutes. FML

#49 - On 11/07/2009 at 3:37pm by cefarix

Sorry, but YDI. You chose to leave a good job to move back to your family. Unfortunately for you, that means you have to take the jobs you can get in the area you're in. In your case, it's sticking your finger in turkey ass. Enjoy your new job, hope that your family is worth it.

Why the hell would you quit a good job to be near your family? Really? You did that? YDI.

#55 - On 11/07/2009 at 7:37pm by FoundManyLemons

What the he'll was your previous job?o_o And yeah.. Grammar nazis, give it a rest.

#56 - On 11/07/2009 at 8:30pm by xApril

That's gonna look sweet on your resume. Don't be sad though, it's just turkeys now but soon you can more up to larger animals.

#57 - On 11/07/2009 at 8:44pm by I_am_stupid_also

Wash your hands, plz.

#59 - On 11/07/2009 at 9:10pm by jane99

necro-turkey molester.

#60 - On 11/07/2009 at 11:30pm by CallMeHush

fuck the turkeys life
poor babies :( douchebags eating them every thanksgiving-- they have feelings you know. millions of tukeys killed every thanksgiving.
id say fuck the turkeys life.

#63 - On 11/08/2009 at 12:31am by latkematzoball

better your finger than something else up those turkeys' ass.
better to be a turkey plucker than a turkey............

#65 - On 11/08/2009 at 3:01am by nodbor

I like how everyone automatically assumes family equals mommy and daddy, when it is possible family is actually a wife and possible children - perhaps the OP traveled more often then not for a living? Or he had to move for the job while wifey couldn't? Etc etc who knows.

Can't really say if this is a ydi or fyl without knowing the who and why of it.

#67 - On 11/08/2009 at 3:56am by BLNovelist

Some quick calculations tell me 15 a minute is bull. That's one every 4 seconds. And that's 7200 a day on a 8 hour shift. 7200 dead turkeys would fill up a 3 or 4 semi trucks.

#68 - On 11/08/2009 at 1:54pm by monkey314159

Well... It was your choice to move now wasn't it. So deal with it, moron.

#69 - On 11/08/2009 at 3:45pm by Koosti

wait what the fuck,
your getting $15 a minute?
kick ass job :D

#70 - On 11/08/2009 at 9:13pm by RapeNoobs

be thankful u can get a job while many people today can't.

#71 - On 11/08/2009 at 9:57pm by lullabyy

obviously they mean 15 turkeys per minute, not dollars.

#72 - On 11/08/2009 at 11:47pm by islandsummer

Ask Mike Roe if he'll have my babies.

#73 - On 11/08/2009 at 11:49pm by TheIrishJaneDoe

Ugh, that sucks. I live on a ranch, so until I graduate high school and get my ass to college, I have to help gut chickens, turkeys, etc. It's nasty.

But why do you stick your fingers UP its ass??? Last I checked, that's not how you do it.

#74 - On 11/09/2009 at 6:37pm by ScaryyMary

you chose it...

#75 - On 11/10/2009 at 12:11am by dragonflygal

If you left the stellar job because you missed your family, well then yes, that sorta sucks but you made the decision to do it. But if you had to come back home to care for a sick or ailing family member, then I sorta feel for you.

And I love how no one considers that maybe the OP was forced to take this particular job because it's their family business.
