how is this an FML? so you had to talk to security boohoo. get a more cane-like cane
I agree there, but more importantly you should sue 'them.
Are you Dr. Gregory House?
House would come up with a better FML.
house would be able to write a FML that insults anybody who reads it and makes him look cooler than anyone

#13 said the truth. That post is all you need to read. And poor you not-house-but-the-original-poster.
Did you pull a "Bruce Lee" on their ass?
i saw that. now its on here! wow
They do make canes here that can shoot a bullet. A metal cane would raise an eyebrow here in Texas. You should use a nice harmless-looking wooden cane to get around. . . and then bludgeon the security guard when he's not looking. Just for giving you shit.
Just with you, differential anybody?
-scribles on the wall-
- Paranoia
- Delusions
Umm Ok THIS IS a lawsuit!!!
Het er done .. lol
write a letter to corporate expressing how unhappy you are with their security staffs harassment of you regarding your disability.

i dont know if this is actually true...but if it is then it still isnt really fml worthy. i mean it sucks....but not a big deal..sorry.. :(
Dr House's thigh muscles are paralyzed not his foot.....just saying.
The guy probably looked young so they thought he carried the cane was a weapon.
Sounds pretty gay coming from a homophobe.... lol phail.
Sucks. People don't really expect young people to be carrying around canes so I can understand the suspicion, but no need for hassling!
sue their a$$..and for everyone who thinks its normal ur lives must suck
DUDE YOU KNOW HOW MANY PEOPLE USE THAT LINE TO ROB BANKS? THEY JUST HAD TO MAKE SURE. CHILL
you assholes that think lawsuits are the answer to everything are turning the planet into a shit hole.
@21 How is this a lawsuit?
OP- Talk to the manager and have them put a note on your account.. and if they give you a hard time find a new bank.
If you have a valid Concealed Weapon Permit it is perfectly legal to carry a weapon into a bank. I suspect there is more to this story than what you've written, because a bank's security guard would not hassle you for simply having a weapon. Brandishing it yes, threatening with it yes, but simply having it no.

Q: Where can I not take my handgun?
A: Handguns and other weapons can not be carried at schools or on
school buses, at polling places, in courts and court offices, at racetracks
and at secured airport areas. The law also specifically prohibits
handguns from businesses where alcohol is sold if more than half of
their revenue is from the sale of alcohol for on-premises consumption,
and from locations where high school, college or professional sporting
events are taking place. You may not carry handguns in hospitals or
nursing homes, amusement parks, places of worship or at government
meetings if signs are posted prohibiting them. Businesses also may
post signs prohibiting handguns on their premises based on criminal
trespass laws.
(Notice banks are not mentioned.)

You do realize that you are quoting either a federal law or a state specific law? Try using that defense in Illinois. States still have the individual right to ban concealed weapons pretty much wherever they want, or everywhere.
The original poster claimed to be in Texas; I quoted Texas law.
It was perdix that claimed Texas, but your point makes mores sense to me know.
It IS pretty much a free for all there
"but your honor, he looked at me cross ways".
Why did some of you pick "YDI" are you people retarded?
@ak2103
The bank would fall under the "Businesses also may..." part.
Only if it's posted so... I've yet to see a bank that was.
How the hell do you not recognize a cane? I mean seriously. Even more so, how do you not recognize a person who needs a cane? If your foot is paralyzed then you will definalty have a some sort of limp going on

Apparently, intelligence wasn't a prerequisite for the job. It's just a simple misunderstanding though. They didn't sick the PD on you before you could explain it, they only threatened to do so. FML material this is not. Having a disability sucks though.
Wopz. My bad. I used a comma instead of a semicolon. FML must be getting to me....
When robbing a bank, how exactly would it be beneficial to have your weapon concealed? Once you are inside if no one knows you have something it really isn't going to help you accomplish your goals.
To quote Dr. Strangelove "Why would you have a doomsday device and not tell anyone?"
Not totally FML but been partly disabled myself I can see how much is sucks, and with all the other ppl around looking and whispering, its really sucks :(
You should let him call the cops, and then he'd have to say sorry for harrasing you, infront of all those people, and even get a slap on the hand from the bank ;)
People with canes being treated as robbers (or terrorists) and a bunch of asshats instinctively reacting by yelling lawsuit. Man, I love seeing these stories from Yankeeland - "only in America"! Hahahaha!
edit: replied to the wrong spot
YDI!!
The handicapped, or whatever P.C. soft-wipe term they prefer this week, always cry, 'We want to be treated like everyone else'. But when it happens, it's all, 'Oh poor, poor me, can't you see I'm different. How dare you treat me like THIS.'
Congrats, dude, your life is average!!! Security is high everywhere. It's a pain for all of us. You got stopped, and it sounds like you didn't cooperate... that's why YDI.
You Deserved It, Asse Hole
Now comes the real fun:
law suit!!! :) yipeee!
Aaaaaannnnd that's why the security guard IS a security guard. Clearly he's not the sharpest tool in the shed. If this happened to me, I would withdraw all my money and shut down the account so I could transfer to a bank that didn't have dipshits for employees.
And yeah, just avoid the lawsuit stuff--it's a waste of time, and I don't think the bank really owes you any compensation in this case. Just stop doing business with them altogether.
