well I learned oft fathers marriage through an announcement in the newspaper after it happened, read to me by his supposed girlfriend and mother of 2 of his children...so it could be worse
I found out my dad got married through pictures on his website three months after the wedding.

I found out about my dads marriage through Myspace.

Lol funnily enough the same happened to me except he called me and told me he was married as a side note a whole month after it happened and trust me with time that wound will heal (a long time)

Atleast he told you. I found out from a friend that my father got remarried a year ago..I'm still waiting for him to tell me he got engaged 12 years ago.
I don't see what the problem is. You think your life is fucked because your father got married and didn't make a big deal out of it? How does this shit get through?
Okay so i found out my dad got married through facebook. Apparently this happens much more often than originally thought.

I know how you feel-both times my father got re-married, he didn't even tell me-I found out through my cousins, who had been invited to the wedding. FYL for sure.
p.s. there's a simple solution-don't tell your dad when you get married.

At least he told you. My father married, well I don't exactly know when, but I found out only a few weeks ago. How? My grandmother showed me one wedding photo. He still hasn't said anything.
My father did the same exact thing, except he came by my house an hour before and let me know..

wait, if its your fathers wedding, he must have planned this for some time, and you being his son and all would surely be invited, so I'm guessing you had too much to do to attend your own father's wedding? ydi!
when my father remarried, i found out 6months later when my best friend (and the guy i had a crush on for almost 6 years) picked me up at the airport for Christmas at my dads (court-ordered). When i called to tell my dad i landed he told me he had gotten stuck at work and sent my step brother to get me.
My mother called me while I was in class a couple of weeks ago. I called her back afterward. First she told me about her vacation and some things she saw in a store there, then she told me she got married. Welcome to the club, and FYL.
My best friends father told his other son a week after the wedding and just expected him to pass the message along.
When my dad remarried he told me like 2 months later on the phone, he called me and said "Did I tell you I got married?" I talked to him several times before this.
I found out about my dad getting married from my mom, who found out from my sister. He even had a wedding.

If he left you a voicemail it means he tried to call. I'm just wondering if your relationship was so bad you let it go to voicemail or were you unavailable? He at least gave you the chance to talk to him in person.

Oh God, I feel your pain. When I was in eigth grade my dad decided to be "nice" and take me out to dinner. When I get there, there's this nice looking young woman sitting at the table, who I figure is his girlfriend. Right after dinner we stop at this little boutique and I'm holding my dad's hand, playing with the ring on his finger and it hits me they're! Later, I found out that I was invited to the wedding, but my dad didn't want me there, so he lied to his blushing bride (wife #3, might I add) and told her I was sick. I still don't know when they got married...
