I know it is gross but if it makes her happy then you don't have a right to tell her what to wear. Who does she have to impress? She might just want to feel younger and happier. I think you should not tell her, unless you are going out somewhere nice. But other than that, what right do you have to tell your grandmother what to wear?

Just politely give her a hint, e.g. "Oh, I'm getting so old, I can't wear tops that show my belly anymore!" or "Mom, today I'm giving all of my old, ugly clothes away to charity. Give me all of your belly tops, this is not an option." Or you can just borrow them and forget to return them. You can also steal some every time you come to visit, while she's peeing or something.

What a disturbing image. Very few people can pull off belly shirts, and I've never met someone 70+ that could.
I'm picturing a wrinkled old woman with tits to her stomach and a fat gut hanging out over her pants. After all, she obviously had one kid, so I doubt her stomach is all that nice.

Even if it's embarrassing for you, hasn't she done enough to deserve your unequivocal love and support as long as she's not robbing banks or beating people?
