Today, I had a big party that left my house really messy. I spent hours cleaning the house until it was spotless. When my parents got home, my dad said, "Did you have fun at the party?" I said, "How'd you know?" and he replied, "You hate cleaning and the house was filthy when we left." FML

well that doesnt really mean anything... i mean you could of just said well dad i wanted to talk to you about something i wanted... and make something up therefore it would look like you cleaned the house because you wanted something in return instead of just standing there looking guilty you need to learn how to lie on the spot jeez

SECOND oh and that sucks oh and you're dumb oh and you shouldn't have said how'd you know? oh and you should have denied it

Why should he have denied it? He had a party, he made sure the house was cleaned up perfectly. There would no point lying to his parents. Plus, they would have never believed him. Parents are smarter than you think (well, at least mine are).

Some kids forget that parents were once kids themselves and are very clever. Most catch on to suspicious behavior very easily. If it was me, my parents would have known, so denying it wouldn't help.

Or fake FML. This is an old cliche story. Any moron could put this up and even bigger morons could moderate it.

FYL. seriously! if you're gonna sit on fmylife.com and point out how fake you think these FMLs are then FYL for real. But, aww that sucks you're parents know you too good. :(

So sick of people crying fake on every post...even if it is who cares, we have no way of knowing for sure either way!

fake reply! just kidding. I hate those ******* too.

You kids all think parents are dumb, when in fact, we will always be one step ahead because you will always be younger, dumber, and less experienced.

yea but we just want yous to think yous are one step ahead of us, we like humoring yous, its all your gonna get in your old age now.

You'll realize the truth one day when you have your own kids. You are going to shake your head and laugh at how dumb you were at their ages, while at the same time thinking you knew everything!

Well said, #5. Parents aren't stupid. I bet they knew the OP was going to have a party before they even left.

Actually, my parents used to be A LOT more savvy than I gave them credit for, but I've learned their patterns. I know what fools them and what doesn't. And as long as I'm careful, they're fairly easy to trick. Not saying they're bad parents or anything, it's very difficult to know what happened at a specific place or time when you weren't there. That's why crime solving is such a pain.

Your post just proved that her point was correct :D Look over what you wrote and think about it

Well obviously you're less experienced in your life than your parents, and most adults. Teenagers think they're so smart when they're that age but yeah, everyone says this, but as you get older you will realize these same exact things. And I'm not even that far removed from being a teenager.

Not necessarily. Certain adults are close-minded and disrespectful just as some children are wise beyond their years. The situations and factors that people grow up with can and will affect the way you think. Experience is a valid point, but consider this: An adult who has lived a pampered life, versus a child who has had to fend for himself. The former would have a fairly peaceful view on life; the latter would have a far more cynical view on it. There are some exceptions, but that's how it generally is. Also pause and reflect: Children are usually much more open-minded than adults. I apologise for seeming hypocritical, but note that young children can learn an entire language quickly, and become fluent in it. You could also say that they had help, but most of what they learn is based on what they hear. The older you get, the harder it is to understand and learn new languages (again, there are exceptions.) What I'm trying to say, if you haven't gotten it already, is that you should never judge by age alone. There are many other factors that affects the way they think. Judging by age can be considered a form of discrimination. However, I will not deny that you are partially correct- In this society, what with peer pressure and such, there are teens who are not as mature as they should be. This, as you have said, can certainly change as time passes.

adults may have more life experience, but that does not make young people "dumb". it ticks you off doesn't it when that young hotshot gets the promotion you were passed over for? he probably can work that job better. or she. youth is not a sin.

You can kindly get on your knees, bend over, and repeatedly place your lips onto my posterior.

I can see where you're coming from, but some people (like me) can't lie to save their lives. But if you can't lie you really shouldn't be throwing a party. -shrug-

it kinda sounds like they don't really care that you had a party so that's kinda really nice...
