Today, I got an electric shaver hoping that it would reduce the risk of cutting myself than shaving with a manual one. However, I cut myself opening the plastic package with the shaver inside. FML

Yeah I guess that sucks but FML this is not.
Trying to reduce cuts I bought a new shaver. After I opened it up I covered my face in shaving cream. Not knowing that thats a no no I burned the side of my face when the razor shorted out.

Bahahaha!!! I don't feel so bad now. I did this too, and had to get my dad drive me to the hospital to get stictches... at 3 in the morning!
maybe you shouldn't shave at all, i think you'll lose too much blood and be submitting you're next FML for the hospital because you cut your wrist open because you were holding the electric shaver upside down. obviously, you're a dope.

It takes 5minutes aprox to use a manual to shave - electric shavers are just a waste of money and for..... what a shave to take 3 minutes?

I hate the way they seal that goddamn plastic. People cut themselves on them all the time. Make the store open to for you before you leave.
Electric razors really do help. You don't get as close of as shave, but you'd probably have to really try to cut yourself. I've never once cut myself with one.
I started off shaving with an electric, but it just didn't work with my face, so I switched to a razor and it has been so much better. The shave can never be as good with the electric. Sure, a bit of blood every so often, but man up and take it.
Unless that case cut your hand off at the wrist and you are typing this with the last of the strength that you can muster, delerious enough to post on FML rather than call an ambulance despite the major blood loss you are suffering, then frankly I don't give a shit.

i got a gillette fusion in the mail and ive shaved drunk with it and never cut myself..buy a decent manual razor and its basically impossible to cut yourself unless you have parkinsons or like pain

#6, that's not necessarily true: I've used both quite a bit and unless I really need to shave quickly I prefer a wet shave with a manual razor: it's closer and generally more pleasant IMO. Also OP, you must be thick to cut yourself so often with a modern multiblade razor that it becomes a problem.

For the FMLs to be original any more, we've pretty much run out of new things that are truly proof that your life is fucked.
On the other hand, we've ALL been fucked since they started using that new, adamantine packaging on EVERYTHING. It used to be that you could pop open the package, use the thing, then put the thing back into the package for storage.
Now you need GLOVES AND SCISSORS to get at your new stuff! And as you're cutting the package, which it resists, you're making all these incredibly sharp edges that scrape at your hands, arms, and face.
I totally sympathize with the OP on this one. Somebody needs to bitch-slap the packaging industry for coming up with shit that's so difficult and dangerous to open.
