Today, there was a story called "Looking Good" about fashion in school that ran in the local newspaper. On the front page of that section it featured a picture of my class. I was photoshopped out. FML

hm. i want to be sympathetic, but how well can you take care of yourself for them to take such extreme measures to exclude you? you must have been singled out for a reason; use this as a wake up call and try to present yourself in a professional, put together way from now on.
on the other hand, that sucks and i'm sorry you were embarrassed in such a way and i wanna give you a hug. :(

I was the editor of a page in my hs, I chose pics to make ppl I didn't like look bad.
No one read it either way...lol

Were you really "photoshopped out" or were you "cropped out" because there's a pretty big difference? You probably wouldn't be as offended if it were the latter; sometimes pictures just have to be certain dimensions and cropping is often times better than resizing.

i agree with 5. you got any major deformities or something? that'd be helpful in pointing out in the op.
Also, I didn't think of this before... it could be a legal issue, though I'm not ENTIRELY sure about it since I'm not a lawyer or anything. Maybe your classmates gave consent for their photo to be published in the newspaper and you somehow missed that?

It is possible that your eyes were closed or something and they didn't want that in the picture and couldn't rectify it in any other way; it may have nothing to do with your fashion sense at all.
And did you return the photo release form at the beginning of the school year? because if you didn't, its your own fault you were photoshopped out.

Or is it possible that its a picture you weren't in?
Its a bitch to take an entire person out of a picture, who has the time for that?
I doubt somebody hates you enough to spend the time to take you out of a picture.
is there any chance you might be on your school's "do not photograph" list? even if you have no reason to be- it's usually for safety reasons, like if a mom and a child are trying to hide from an abusive ex-husband- sometimes the school screws up or your parents fill out a form wrong.
Either it's a legal thing or you need to write down "improve self image because ugly people get edited out" on your To Do list.

Ummm, I can only assume that you were actually just cropped out. You'd have to look REALLY bad for someone to bother to take the time to photoshop you out of that picture.

You definately need to check and see if you were "photoshopped" or "cropped" out. There is a BIG difference. I worked at a newspaper for 4 years in the newsroom as a photographer, and it is in fact illegal to photoshop people out of or into photos for a newspaper.

Why the hell are people blaming this person for what happened? This is an obvious case of the students on the paper trying to bully the OP, and the teachers supervising the paper should have stopped it. I'd go to the principal.

I fail to see why 24 and 38 don't believe this happened. My best guess is that they were really popular in high school and therefore think it's impossible that somebody got singled out for being different. I believe this happened, I mean if someone was gonna make up a story, it'd be more sensational than just getting left out of a picture.
