Today, I bought an expensive video game and decided to show it off and post a photo of it on Instagram. When I got home to play it, it rejected my activation key. I then realised it was showing in the Instagram post. FML

Today, in an effort to try and be closer to my girlfriend's son, I bought him an expensive Xbox game I know he desperately wanted so we could play it together. He was excited, until he realised that I that paid for it. He snapped the disc and threw the pieces in the bin. At least I tried. FML

Today, I went out and bought a copy of Black Ops 2. I got home and opened the case, only to see the game disk was missing. When I went back to the store to complain, the guy at the desk accused me of trying to pull an old scam on him. FML

Today, after having given up video games for two weeks to focus on school, I finished my last exam of the semester and finally became free. I got home to find that Steam is down worldwide. I just received an email saying every game on my wish list is on sale, but I can't log in. FML

Today, as I sat on the toilet, I mistakenly took a screenshot and then proceeded to fumble my phone. It wasn't until 5 hours later when I recharged it that I realized I had unintentionally posted the screenshot of me on the toilet to Instagram. FML

No. It's their fault for bragging and showing the activation key on the internet. If it is your fault, you can't get a replacement. It has to be the store's fault to get a replacement.

Yeah, the store can't help you out, but the game producer might be able to. If OP can show proof of purchase and explain the situation, the company may be able to shut down the stolen key. That said, hubris is a dangerous thing. If this mistake only costs you the price of the game, you got off lucky, OP. People have lost a lot more learning this lesson. Good luck, idiot.

Why the down votes?! Inspecting a photo before sharing it to the world is bad?! Plus it is OP's fault, so why the butt hurt if someone else is enjoying it?! Even i would try using a key if i saw one. Dont tell me you won't.
