Today, my boyfriend was flying his toy helicopter at my head. It got stuck in my hair and I now have a bald patch. FML
Today, my boyfriend was holding my hair back while I threw up. The smell then reached him and caused him to throw up in my hair. FML
Today, in the bathroom during the ACTs, my hair got stuck in the electric hand dryer. I had to rip my hair out. For future reference, hair + hand dryer = dreadlocks. FML
Today, I was hanging out with the guy I really like. I lifted my arms to put my hair in a ponytail when he noticed a hole that had apparently tore in the armpit of my shirt, so he put his finger through it. I haven't shaved in weeks. FML
Today, my boyfriend and I were play fighting. He said, "I should stop trying to hurt you," before punching me in the face. I lost a tooth. He found it hilarious. FML
Today, I realized that my boyfriend really does have a problem with my upper-lip hair. I woke up this morning to him ripping a wax strip off of my face. All he could say after I stopped shrieking was that he had hoped it wouldn't wake me up. FML
Today, my boyfriend thought it would be cute to try and pick me up while kissing, instead he tripped and slammed the back of my head on the corner of the wall. FML

How does one get one's hand stuck in... Hair? He must have been twisting his hand in every possible intricate way for hair to be able to catch an entire hand inside of it. Unless OP's hair is sticky. Try some new shampoo if your hair is like that, though I don't know much about hair so I could be totally wrong.

53, there is such a thing as nappy, thick, tangly, curly, (etc.) hair types. My hair is curly and it gets so tangled. If someone ran their hand through it, it sure as shit will get stuck.

If OP has long hair, it could take forever to grow back. If the patch is in a visible area, it could be months or even years of bad hair days.
