Today, a male employee at a shoe shop helped me try on shoes. Once I found a pair, I went to pay for them. I was telling the cashier about how great of an employee he was when she told me there were no male employees. A guy with a foot fetish helped me find shoes. FML

Today, I went to a mall and got some really awesome shoes. I went home to find out that they are actually women's shoes. I'm a dude. FML
Today, while shopping for a pair of shoes, I saw a pair I really liked lying around, so I sat down to try them on. Then, a man came up to me and pointed out that they were actually his shoes. FML
Today, I was working at a shoe store and was helping a dude try on shoes. He looked like trouble and I wanted to finish with him. When he finally picked his shoes, he abruptly stood up and ran out of the store with the shoes on. The cost of them was deducted from my salary. $240. FML
Today, I went to get new shoes. I'm a pretty tall girl and I have proportional feet. I asked the cute guy who worked there for a size 9.5. He burst into laughter before putting on a shocked face and saying, "Oh wait... You're serious." Goodbye, self esteem. FML
Today, I was helping an old man find a pair of shoes. I told him about a particularly comfortable pair but had to inform him that they only came in black or white. Hearing this, the old man grabbed me around the neck and began to beat me in the head with our display shoe. He wanted brown. FML
Today, at work, I was waiting in line to pay my food at the cafeteria when I noticed the doctor who was in front of me had these really cool looking shoes on. I told him, "I like your shoes!" He turned over, looked at me and didn’t say anything back. FML
Today, I went to a store to buy pants for a new job. A really hot guy helped me get a pair down from a high shelf so I could try them on. He had flirted with me so I hurried in the fitting room so I could go talk to him. Note to self: Check to see if you have pants on after trying on clothes. FML
Today, my shoe fell apart a few minutes after I got to work. I called my boyfriend and asked him to bring me the "pretty black pair" in my closet. What did he bring? Black stilettos. I'm a waitress with an eight-hour shift. FML
Today, my boyfriend got a job at a trendy clothing store in the mall. Trying to be supportive, I went to visit him and tried something on. I got stuck in the jeans and had to call my boyfriend, who sent the manager to pull the jeans off me. FML
Today, a middle-aged woman came into the shoe shop where I work, and asked me to help her put on a pair of boots that were obviously too small. Simultaneously as I knelt down by her feet, she booted me in the face while we tried to get them on. FML

What surprises me is how she didn't notice that he wasn't an employee... They usually wear a uniform so we can distinguish who works for the shop and who doesn't (at least where I live).

not necessarily, in a lot of smaller shops there are no uniforms just people dressed normally who work there which causes confusion it happened to me several times

11- Lol, a couple of years ago, I was in a Walmart in black jeans and a plain white t shirt, trying on work boots. My wife had my jacket and was off looking at something else, so when I found what I wanted, I carried the box in front of me and stood looking down the isles for her. Some guy and his wife stopped me and started asking me where I kept the Kodiak brand, since he said I obviously work in this department, so, I took him back to where I came from and helped him out. ;) He got what he wanted, thanked me for the assistance, and off he went. I barely kept a straight face the whole time, but if he wanted to jump to conclusions, who was I to correct him? :) So not everyone wears a uniform per say in sales, I guess. They just have to have a bland taste in fashion, such as myself, lol! ;D

26- I actually had the opposite experience. I worked at Target for a couple of months and several times a week I would get people asking if I worked there, as if my Target uniform and name-tag were just a coincidence. -.-!
