Today, I proudly gave my grandma a picture I had drawn for her. She didn't seem thrilled with it, and afterwards the rest of my family seemed upset. Nobody could fathom why I drew grandma a picture of a graveyard for her 85th birthday. It was suppose to be a bridge. FML

I'm trying so hard, darling, and I just can't picture in my head how anyone could make out a graveyard from a bridge... Also...why would you draw your grandmother a bridge in the first place? It just seems like an odd drawing...unless she was an architect back in her day or something.

Ah, I kinda see how this could happen. :P If you drew a bridge with a half-circle underneath and the cross-pieces under the bridge formed tombstone-like shapes, it would look like a hill with tombstones on it. Your mistake for drawing something so easily misinterpreted though.

Lesson one: if you can't draw properly when you're younger than 12, it's ok. Lesson two: if you can't draw properly when you're older than 12, don't draw for others, draw for yourself for fun, but not for others. Lesson three: if you want to draw for others who are not your lover, try simple things (not that I know what's more simple than a bridge, but shht) OR your grandma herself (that's something people might like)

Lesson four: If you are not a professional artist or artist-in-training, don't draw a picture as a birthday gift. OP, was it on ruled paper? Did it take you less than five minutes? Next time get your grandmother a proper gift.
