Today, as I was walking to my car, I noticed a car with a tail light out. Trying to be a good citizen, I walked up to the driver's side door and said, "Excuse me…" The lady then maced me through the open window. FML
Today, I got rear-ended at a stoplight by a woman who had been doing her make-up while driving. She didn't get out to see if I was okay until she had finished perfectly applying both lipliner and gloss. FML
Today, I was helping my elderly neighbor carry her groceries into her kitchen. When I finished, she sighed and said, "You're such a sweet girl. It's just a shame about your face." FML
Today, the window cleaner did his rounds at my house. I sat at my mirror applying makeup and doing my hair. When he came to my window, he yelled rather loudly, "Stop putting on a show for me, you dirty slut!" FML
Today, I was sitting in the bus station when an old woman looked over at me, then said to her friend, "Young women are so pretty these days." Her friend looked up at me and said, "That's because makeup is so cheap these days." FML
Today, I was taking the subway to school. I was applying some makeup when I noticed a little boy watching me. When I was finished I heard him whisper to his mom, "I thought make up was supposed to make you pretty." FML
Today, I was sitting in a parked car. A woman was having difficulties maneuvering out. She honked the horn repeatedly for me to move, then looked me in the eye and called me a "f**king bitch", before driving off. I was in the passenger seat. FML
Today, an old lady asked me the way to the shopping mall. The shopping mall was not too far away, but I could see that the lady could barely walk so I offered to drive her there. She smacked my car's door into a pole while getting in my car. She didn't even notice that she'd done something wrong. FML
Today, I was talking to a charming young lady on MSN by webcam. She suddenly asked me to take my glasses off for a minute; I did so, and she said, "Oh never mind, you're still just as ugly..." FML
Today, I pulled over to help an attractive girl on the highway in the middle of nowhere. When I asked if she needed help she told me she was going to try starting her car one more time. She then started to make fake engine noises and told me that she was good to go and that I should be on my way. FML

I'll never understand why people think it's ok for older people to be assholes simply because they're old. (It reminds me of how the media treats Prince Phillip like he's a funny old man, even after he says racist and sexist things). A person is a person, regardless of their age. And if they're being an asshole to you, you have every right to call them out for it.

22 - as the brain ages and slowly deteriorates, the part of your brain that filters out what you know is socially acceptable and what is not doesn't quite work, so old people aren't always aware what they're saying is really that inappropriate. Old people say the darnest things!

23 - It's not so much that people think it's acceptable for old people to be assholes, it's just that nobody can really do anything to stop them or change their way of thinking whatsoever. If you try to call out an old person it just makes the situation worse haha.

I think that's pretty funny.. Perhaps she was right.. Or in her own sense (the old hag) perhaps thought there's no helping OP because she feels the need to wear make up, when really, OP could be the most beautiful girl and truly doesn't need makeup.. I'm sure there was some good in this elderly women's statement... (Or perhaps I just try to see the good side to everything, I could be completely wrong) don't feel too bad OP.

This same thing happened to me OP except it was a young guy. I'm not going to lie I cried but I was more upset that someone would actually say that to somebody! People are mean. Just try to forget about it!

Old people ALWAYS are assholes though. Not a single exception exists. Not because they're bad people, but because civil rights moves forwards (mostly) and they don't stick with the program. So they're always saying things that just aren't ok anymore, at all, ever.

I agree.. Senile bats. My friends great grandmother yelled at her because she got her a chocolate cake instead of vanilla. So the old bat yelled at everyone saying she wants vanilla next year. I replied "If she lives another year". I'm not welcome at their house anymore.

#47 Nothing we say nowadays is ever original. Get over it. Everything we have said or say, someone before us has said it already. Whether it'd be in a book or a movie or someone you know. I am not too familiar with the Diary of a Wimpy Kid book. I merely said it because my uncle once said it to my grandmother when I was younger. Unless the Diary of a Wimpy Kid book was out in the 1990's then maybe my uncle copied them. I didn't even know there was a movie, all I know that it was a book.
