Today, I was riding a bus. After having a conversation with my friend, I looked down and saw a little boy looking at me. He asked, "Are you a boy or a girl?" As if that wasn't bad enough, when I responded that I was a girl, he said, "Oh. So, why do you have a boy voice then?" FML

so when i was in the third grade my mom was cutting my hair got distracted and cut my hair above my ears, my boobs hadnt developed yet so people were asking me am i a boy or a girl, and i didnt sound like a girl either i sucked it up in the third grade and ur like 20 so suck it up

This isn't much of an FML however there's a difference between being mistaken for a boy in 3rd grade and when you're an adult.
thanks to my boy voice I get to sing a lot of lower pitch songs

I don't see what the problem was. It was a child. And looking gender neutral isn't necessarily a bad thing, some people can pull it off.

that really sucks because your voice is something that is almost impossible to change. Clothing, hair, body, face - those are all changeable in some way or another, but your voice stays for life. FYL.

Well, if it was only your voice and it wasn't terribly bad, that wouldn't be too disastrous.
Meh. I work a drive-thru (oh boy, I know) and get called "sir" fairly often when I'm taking orders. Not the end of the world. Little kids don't have a filter for saying socially unacceptable things. I'm sure he didn't mean to hurt your feelings - just an innocent query.
Actually, women have boy voices. The voice of Bart Simpson is a woman.
If he had said she had a man's voice, that would be creepy. Imagine trying to screw a woman who had Chuck Norris's voice, a voice that would deliver a roundhouse kick to your nuts!
Punch him in the face and ask why he cries like a girl.

don't worry about it; I am a girl and I have a guys voice. it's actually sometimes a good thing. I have been offered at job at the radio station for having such a strong voice for a female. look at the bright side of life :)

Women with deep voices are sexier. The little boy doesn't know about that yet. A simple answer should suffice. "Because that is how I talk."
Little kids will ask you if you're a guy or a girl if you are a girl with short hair or a guy with long hair. It happens every day and it's not the end of the world.

Some little kid asked me if I was a boy or a girl when I was in third grade. My mom likes short hair, so she made me get a really short hair cut- like only boys and old ladies get. -_-;

fail. Go put on some makeup and extensions and maybe wear...more girl clothes?
If we taught children that all men and women don't have to dress/look/sound/act alike, we would have more accepting children.
I'm sure parents try their hardest. But unfortunately, we have TV, ads, and peer pressure. And it's not just the children that want to fit in, it's everyone. All it really comes down to is the corporate giants want to make another dollar.

Most children generate the thought that all females have very high pitched voices, but a girls voice usually isn't as high as a child would think it is. Your voice is probably just fine
