Today, a colleague told me he was pretending to be me on a dating site, and that he has four pending dates. Last time I tried being myself, my first and only date pushed me down some stairs. FML

I think you were being a bit dramatic, OP; they were probably just testing your balance. That's one of the first things I do on dates in an effort to gauge the viability of well-balanced offspring. It's sort of romantic, really.

Just shows you should have given yourself another chance OP. Just because one person may have been messed up, doesn't mean there isn't anyone else out there! GL on your new dates!

Let's be irrational and push him down some stairs too!

forgive me if I misinterpreted the FML, but if he really was catfishing people using her identity....

Either using the image, or a description/personality that matches the OP. The real question is, did the colleague set up the dates for the OP or himself?

Different dating sites? Maybe you use terrible ones?

Would it be so bad to try one of those dates?

Don't stress too much about finding the right one op. The right one will come along in due time. You can't force love.

So it's not your looks but something you said last time that kept people away. If you ask me this is good news!

That's a strange spin on identity theft.

Maybe take some dating advice from said friend?
