YDI for rotating anti-clockwise.

MsTs, a lot of people are dependent on alcohol:
"Alcohol abuse statistics also tell us that a total of 23 million Americans suffer from substance abuse addiction, and 18 million is alcohol related. Almost three times as many men as women are problem drinkers."
http://www.learn-about-alcoholism.com/alcoholism-statistics.html

The first step to getting better is realizing your problem. Now you just have to get help to fully get better. You can do it!

#7 - On 09/22/2009 at 6:19am by snowieflake

nah, it'd be bad if you didn't give a fuck what they thought of you. you'll get there.

#8 - On 09/22/2009 at 6:20am by cheneysdick

If you truly are an alcoholic, and you want to stop, please get professional help. It's very dangerous to detox on your own. I honestly wish you the best of luck in beating it.

#9 - On 09/22/2009 at 6:23am by AndelleRae

Hey, at least you've figured out that you have a problem. Most people never manage to pull out. My advice is to do what you can now before your problem gets any worse.

alcoholism is not a disease it's a disgusting habbit that people have smoke weed instead of drinking slot better and that's what they used to cure alcoholism in the 1920

Don't drink and drive kids.

#17 - On 09/22/2009 at 7:04am by t53_ftw

a comma somewhere in there would work wonders.
"Don't drink and drive kids."
"Don't drink and drive, kids."

AA truly works... But only if you are desperate. I have 22 years sober in AA.

#23 - On 09/22/2009 at 8:17am by margie4peace

It's nice that you realise it.
Work it out, and if you want to stop, stay at home a couple of weeks.
Lazyness is the best way to get rid of bad habits (too lazy to go and buy it !! XD)

Workes for cigarette, which is way more (physically speaking) addicting than alcohol :)

#24 - On 09/22/2009 at 8:18am by 4ube

Dude, get ur ass to AA and get into rehab (even outpatient) asap, the waiting line can be long. U need a 12 step program

#26 - On 09/22/2009 at 8:31am by gaga4choc

Talking from experience, you need a couple of things:

1) Small goals that are achievable (such as quitting for 1 day, then 2 days, then a week, etc).

2) Real friends to keep you accountable as you accomplish these goals

3) Productive hobbies to keep you occupied and actively involved (distracted, in other words)

4) Although we never did this as much, heading to a couple of AA meetings can also keep things in perspective and help you accomplish #1-3.

#28 - On 09/22/2009 at 8:40am by Brave_Sir_Robin

sounds illegal in some way or just feels wrong in a way. sorta kills the privacy aspect.

#94 - On 09/24/2009 at 8:20am by Navirio

Just so you know. I run three different liquor, beer and wine stores. The three stores that I run communicate all the time about regular customers. We talk to our competitors often, just so we know how much our customers have really had and when to cut them off. You are kidding yourself if you think that rotating to different store is helping your cause at all. Seek help.

#29 - On 09/22/2009 at 8:42am by Wix

I always shit on people in the comments, but I've been there.

#31 - On 09/22/2009 at 8:55am by aebleskiver

Hey bro, there is a solution, I went through the same thing. Its not the end.

#32 - On 09/22/2009 at 9:16am by Jlr85

If you truly arr an alcoholic - you can't live without it, if you don't drink you go into withdrawels, etc. Get help!

It's a long and difficult road, but you can do it. I never thought I would ever stop my addiction, but with the right help, I am now happily sober. Good luck!

#33 - On 09/22/2009 at 9:23am by Glam

I read the first part of that in pirate..

#39 - On 09/22/2009 at 10:30am by mercyFML

Same here. It took a half dozen attempts to pronounce "withdrawals" in pirate.

#55 - On 09/22/2009 at 1:06pm by mooneydriver

Hahahahahaaa. God, that made me laugh so hard......

#63 - On 09/22/2009 at 2:50pm by Zhombie

wow, you are a drunk. Now that you know you have a problem you can stop drinking or at least stop buying so much.

#34 - On 09/22/2009 at 9:29am by driedpeaches

Considering they are store clerks and selling liquor is their livelihood, so they probably deal with a few alcoholics, I don't think that is necessary. Though you do need some help though it sounds like your beginning to figure that out as you recognized your problem Step 1.

#37 - On 09/22/2009 at 10:20am by somefacts

Go to AA

#38 - On 09/22/2009 at 10:23am by glassjs

If you're gonna live to rock star life, you're gonna have to go more gonzo. Kick it the store front door and scream 'I'm here Drink and Fight and Rahhr!' Otherwise, yeah. Go to AA. Don't do that shit @home too long. There's a world between 'now and then' @home alone and chucking trash bags of liquor bottles :\

#40 - On 09/22/2009 at 10:37am by mercyFML

Please get help, and do NOT drink and drive, you can't take it back if you kill some one, because you were drunk.

#41 - On 09/22/2009 at 10:48am by shcuwnc

Wow, brilliant insight! I'm sure they never considered that before!

#56 - On 09/22/2009 at 1:11pm by mooneydriver

If you can't drink and drive, then why do bars have parking lots?

#86 - On 09/23/2009 at 4:00pm by driedpeaches

Drinking warm lager is like listening to the beatles without ear plugs. Also, OP you should go liquour stores and pretend you're stocking up for a party. That's what me and my friend do. (THERE IS NO PARTY)

#42 - On 09/22/2009 at 10:55am by DrunkenValor

OH! And you could go liquour stores wearing ski masks, I'm sure that won't back fire anyway what so ever!

#47 - On 09/22/2009 at 11:14am by DrunkenValor

Yeah, definitely don't drink and drive. Hey, you are aware of the problem and it is a huge problem. Ugh, I know, man. I quit for three years then for some stupid reason thought I'd try moderate drinking. Not going so well. I need to just abstain totally. I haven't done anything terribly stupid yet, but it is only a matter of time and bad luck if I don't just quit. I hear you. Quit. Seek help. I wonder if there is an online AA. I don't want to go sit in a smokey room. ew. And uh, I don't really want to come out to the world as an alcoholic either. When I am dry I typically just tell people I quit for health reasons or I just dont' like it. Truth is I love the shit out of it and I hate it too. Good luck!

#43 - On 09/22/2009 at 10:55am by imtrying

Admitting you have a problem is the first step to recovery. Now, join a rehabilitation program and sober up. Good luck.

#44 - On 09/22/2009 at 11:01am by lakita_lover

that's not bad. you're showing concious thinking. if you were really bad, you just wouldn't give a fuck and go to the closest store for booze.

#45 - On 09/22/2009 at 11:05am by flyboy57

I was going to click YDI, but then I saw that you live in Alberta so now I would definitely have to say FYL.

#46 - On 09/22/2009 at 11:10am by littlegolferboy

Liquor store fag here -- trust me, even if you're rotating liquor stores, we still know you're doing it. I know a few people who buy from my store, and go to another store 3 minutes away just to seem like they're not alcoholics.

Seriously though, get professional help.

#48 - On 09/22/2009 at 11:27am by Mewtwo

Cmon, repeat after me:

Hi, I'm cpt_concerned and I'm an alcoholic.

#49 - On 09/22/2009 at 11:33am by Triumvirate

Time to try Alcoholics Anonymous...

#52 - On 09/22/2009 at 12:55pm by mushrooms

Dude, start doing hard drugs so you can end it faster

#54 - On 09/22/2009 at 1:42pm by donkey_hang_down

god i hate the people who don't understand the legitimacy of alcoholism. on the positive side, its better than an addiction to a more life-ruining substance like meth or heroine but it still is not a decent life choice. try AA man, thats all i got..my uncle did that, one year sober.

#57 - On 09/22/2009 at 1:33pm by guitardedman

Alcohol is a LESS life ruining substance than meth or heroine? I drink, but I'm not under the illusion that it's any less of a dance with the devil than the other hard drugs are. People don't take alcohol as seriously as they do other hard drugs, and it comes back to bite a lot of them in the ass.

Alcohol deaths per 100,000: 150
Heroin deaths per 100,000: 80
http://www.druglibrary.org/think/~jnr/drugmort.htm

40% of all fatalities in car crashes are alcohol related. (That's 16,694 deaths in 2004)
http://www.infoplease.com/ipa/A0908129.html

Alcohol contributes to 1 in 25 deaths worldwide http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/155447.php

#85 - On 09/23/2009 at 12:39pm by donkey_hang_down

please contact your local chapter of AA... you don't have to live a miserable existence of shame and remorse. I drank for 30 years and have not had a drink now for 21 months... feels good. AA saved my life.

#87 - On 09/23/2009 at 4:44pm by Eclipse18

Do you look for the almost empties at parties to finish them off?
Do you offer to get drinks for others so you can sneak an extra one in at the bar or while you're making one for them?

Rotating merchants is just one of our sneaky little tricks. I've been sober for well over a year now thanks to a moment of true clarity and Schick Shadel.

Even when I checked in I didn't honestly think there would be a day I wouldn't want or need it.

Now, it's hard to imagine I lived that way and truly thought it was sustainable. I have NO desire to drink, not a moment, not a day.

Be good to yourself. Choose life. Check out www.schickshadel.com.

I hope you don't end up like my piece of shit drunkard of a father.

#93 - On 09/24/2009 at 4:31am by Darling_Cherry

We learned about this in my Health class...it's the same with bulimics going from supermarket to supermarket.

#95 - On 09/24/2009 at 5:51pm by BadLuckTuck

Despite what most of these idiots say, I understand. Been there, done that. In fact I did that for a very long time.

Just find something to take your mind off it. Rehab is no good, it never helps anyone. AA is a joke, the true statistics show it helps no more than help themselves.

Experiment, do what works for you. And if yuo slip and have a drink oh well, one will not kill you. Just pick up from there and keep going. Sooner or later you hit the finish line. Good luck!

#96 - On 09/25/2009 at 2:19am by Radius

Call it a sneaking suspicion... I'm willing to bet that you have had people in your life who would have stuck by you through thick and thin and helped you battle your addiction. How badly have you alienated those people? Are there any left or are you now surrounded by enablers? When you are ready to get sober you will have to rebuild those bridges you've burned, swallow your pride and ask for compassion and forgiveness. One thing you will learn is that in order to stay sober you need to remove the toxic elements, and people, from your life. If you look to the past you will find people who, stupidly perhaps, still care enough to support you in your battle.

There are many addictions in this world, I've battled and won an addiction and love/hate relationship with food. In time you too will be ready to reclaim your life, here's to hoping that happens before your life is too ruined to live.

#97 - On 09/25/2009 at 11:27am by ectopic_avenger

The same thing happened to me. I had about three or four stores I went to. One day I got a really bad headache from the beer and every time after that it was the same. finally I couldn't take the pain anymore and just quit cold turkey. Maybe you will just get tired of feeling bad one day. oh yea if your right side just under your rib cadge is hurting you might want to have your liver checked.

#98 - On 09/25/2009 at 4:20pm by SNOTTYBONES
