(-1)hahahahaha
(0)You have a phobia. Phobia's are irrational. Must have been embarrassing as fuck though.
(0)fail!!
(0)Fail
(0)Agreed. Oh, and how does it take 45 years to figure out you're afraid of heights?
(0)I always see these height FMLs and never understand that either. I mean, at one point you'd think they've been up a two or three story building.
(0)Look on the bright side, dresses are figure-flattering.
(0)Hahaha. So wear a little black dress, and Off for perfume.
I'm sending you a box of butterflies for Christmas. :)
(0)Well that sounds fun! Taking advantage of others' fears is just delightful. I bet I could get anything I want out of people with threats of butterflies, spiders, and midgets.
Luckily, I don't have any real phobias to exploit.
Oh, except that one of guys with colorful pictures.
*Gasp*
*Faint*
(+1)LOL I have a friend who's afraid of butterflies...its HILARIOUS :)
But we all love her anyway
(0)ferriswheel - 1
you - 0
(+6)How do you get to be 45 and not discover that you fear heights?
(+1)Yeah i don't get it either, so was that like your first time on a ferris wheel?
Fyourkid'sL
(+1)That's what I was thinking. Possibly fake. Even if he's never been on a ferris wheel, roller coaster, or tower before, if the fear is quite that bad, he should have experienced at least a decent level of anxiety from other, not-as-high places.
#26 - On 09/01/2009 at 11:41am by null
(0)New found fear of heights maybe? Or maybe it was just the situation, theres something very scarey about them amusement parks...
Maybe its not fear of heights but claustrophobia. If the Farris Wheel is one of those enclosed pimp ones. Or maybe its a fear of not being on solid ground while up high.
#55 - On 09/01/2009 at 1:34pm by LaceyPatrickson
(+1)#36 - True, but then it wouldn't be a true "fear of heights". More like... fear of ferris wheels, as other posters described below. Sufferers of actual acrophobia usually can't even climb a ladder without at least a little anxiety.
But, I guess I can't fault the OP for it. Whether he described it improperly, doesn't know, or has simply never been higher than 10 feet in the air his whole life. The symptoms sure do sound like a phobia though.
#50-something: Good point, could be that.

(0)i agree!! where has he been all his life to not find out that he has a fear of heights!!

Now if they turn to drugs and a life of crime you'll be able to pinpoint the moment it flipped.

(0)i feel like i kind of read this somewhere before, but oh well...
#5 just took the words out of my mouth :)
(0)it's more like F ur kids lives, I hope they're freinds don't get word.

(0)I feel bad for your kids. :(
(0) why did u put this under "health"?
(+1)Mental health?
(0)MAN-tal health.
(0)well at least ur kids have a strong father figure to look up 2.............
(0)wow...
(0)How embarrassing … for your kids!
(+3)My boyfriend discovered just how bad his fear of heights was at an aquarium, when we were walking over the shark tank. He sunk to his knees in the middle of the ramp, so I feel ya. =(
(0)Loser
(0)This is sitcom-worthy
(0)i feel for you, OP, but honestly! ...? you're 45? never been up high before? FYL man.
(0)I've got a fear of heights myself, so I know how you feel.
(+2)To the people saying he's 45 and should know... it may just be an extreme fear of ferris wheels. I know from experience I can ride roller coasters, can walk across a bridge a mile up that sways in the wind, can even go to the top floor of buildings and stand on the roof as my father does construction on it.
It's a ferris wheel that can make me sick to my stomach and almost burst into tears, and I've been on them all my life. It's different. It's not a platform that stays still, but something that sways, that normally is years old, that you feel as if any moment you're going to fall out if you don't hold on tight enough.
And so what? He's never been on a ferris wheel until now? Maybe he didn't have a childhood where his parents took him to carnivals, as hey guess what? They get super expensive. And maybe his kids are just now old enough to go.
Stop being so judgmental.
(0)Exactly. I've ridden the rollercoaster with the biggest drop on the east coast and loved it but Ferris Wheels scare the crap out of me. Just something about the creaking and swaying and...oldness...
(0)Ferris wheels are the scariest thing at any amusement park. Millenium force? Top Thrill Dragster? Rode those no problem. Even the Power Tower. A little more scary. Ferris wheels? There's no way in hell I'm riding one of those.
(0)What about the slingshot ride? The one where there's nothing but you getting vaulted into the air hanging on for dear life by two bungees. I love roller coasters, drop towers, and don't mind ferris wheels but I'd NEVER get on the slingshot ride.
#52 - On 09/01/2009 at 1:26pm by null
(0)I agree 100%
I can stand on tall buildings and ride roller coasters, but ferris wheels make me feel the need to shit my pants. I dont blame you whatsoever pussyOUT
(0)That's cute...really!
(0)I'm not gonna make a joke or anything man, that just plain sucks..... okay, it is a little funny.
(0)aww, that's kinda cute ^^
(0)YDI for being a massive pussy.
(0)I call shenanigans.
How do you suddenly realize you have a fear of heights? You mean you've never been to the top of a building? Never walked across a bridge? Never climbed a ladder? You also don't mention experiencing signs of vertigo.
(0)PUSSY
(0)I'm in the same boat as you. I am 23 (girl) and panic on a 10 foot tall ladder. Ignore those who tell you you aren't being masculine; real men understand that these things happen!
(0)lmfao
(0)Do you have Lepidopterophobia or something? That was a good spelling bee word.
(0)Damn it. Change of plans: I'm sending you a box of bees for Christmas.
Spelling bee, you know. It's like worker bee, queen bee, etc. The spelling bee refers to the intelligent ones, as opposed to the bees who just do physical labor (they call those Mexican bees).
(0)Wow, that sucks. For your kids, anyway. Pussy.
Nah, I'm kidding, my mom has a fear of heights too, and it's not that bad, but still, I see where you're coming from. FYL, man.
(0)Hahaha oh man that Ferris wheel sure showed you.
(0)On the bright side... you probably scared the hell out of your kids. Now you have someone to bond with over your newly found fear! Poor kids :/
(0)no bitchassness on the ferris wheel
(0)bull
(0)ha! fantastic, fear is an amazing thing.
(0)EEW. why is a 45 year old on fml?
(+1)fuck you, you're obviously not very bright. this isn't some site just for little teenagers. that's really rude. and op, fyl. hopefully something won't happen again like this. it's not that bad. now you know atleast. :)
(0)That, and #48 has poor reading comprehension skills.
The tits belonged to a 45 year old, the OP could have been 20. Sheesh.
(0)We're all around 40-50 years old. You might be the only teenager on this site, actually. We're here to stalk young girls, but it looks like so far you're the only one. Women our age just don't compare to the likes of you.
By the way, you should turn your blinds the other way, it lets more light in. And I think your dog wants out.

(0)WHOOPS!
Wrong FML.
Fail fail fail.
Ignore the previous post.
(0)FML is being weird again... I think my comment showed up...
(0)Erm... you do realise there are more people in the world than just teenagers and college aged students? I've read hundreds of FMLs from middle-aged people... why aren't they allowed to use it?
(0)I think YOU have poor comprehension skills. The OP clearly said they were 45. "They stopped the ride for me to get off. I'm a 45 year old man. FML"
(0)well she was probably thinking she was still on the sign spinner FML lol don't be harsh. and FYI My Teacher gets on here from school and he's in his 30's or 40's and I figured this out after. AND I'M NOT 40, I'M 14! A lot of adults get on because they have more experience with life. The teen FML's just sound a little angsty, or crush doesn't like them back. and those are annoying because you can't have everyone. sorry if i trail off subject i'm adhd.... and plexico, you are by far the most hilarious commenter on here
(0)hahaha woww my mom was kinda scared too but all she did was silently pray and joke with us. but crying, really?? grow some cojones =P
(0)clearly everyone is exactly the same with their fear of heights, right?
Please think before you post
#58 - On 09/01/2009 at 1:40pm by gc
(0)Even if you had a fear of heights you could have controlled it by telling yourself you're in a freaking car with a rail that prevents you from falling unless you jump off.
(0)What a little bitch.
(0)Should have MANNED UP and stayed on the wheel.
I kid, I kid. That's harsh. Although, how did you not notice a fear of heights for 45 years?
(0)Ya Pansy, pull it together in front of your kids.
(0)That was YOU ?
Jkjk, :] . FYL
#68 - On 09/01/2009 at 2:29pm by OMFGItsEliah
(0)Only way to get over a fear is to face it.
OP, try climbing a high, slippery/sandy rock face with a pool at the bottom. That sure helped me.
I also got to face a few fishes.
(0)You're a 45 year old MAN? More like a 45 year old PUSSY. YDI.
(0)Ew, that sounds really gross lmfao
I mean technically a 45 year old woman has a 45 year old pussy, but...
It makes me think of expired pussy, like I dunno... a watermelon.
(0)I don't blame you, ferris wheels get scary! But I wouldn't be screaming like you did ....hahah
(0)At least this didn't end like it did in the amusement park scene like in Final Destination 3. Now that would be a real FML.
(0)I'm not afraid of heights but I'm terrified of ferris wheels. It's the fast movement coupled with the height...plus the total loss of control. They're scarrier than the steepest roller coasters IMHO.
(0)what does IMHO mean?
(0)In my humble opinion, I believe that IMHO means "in my humble opinion".
(0)or it can mean "In My Honest Opinion" Thats how ive always heard it anyway
(0)I guess none of these people have an extreme phobia either.
Everyone's scared of something. So you're afraid of heights. It's not a problem. It's just a shame you found out that way.
(0)Like a boss!
(0)Hahaha wow.
(0)ahhahahaha lmao
(0)Wow you little fucking pussy you're a 45 year old man and afraid of a FUCKING FERRIS WHEEL! Go fuck yourself little fag. And now I know I'm going to get attacked by flaming homosexuals for calling someone a fag that is obviously a fag, because for some reason, there are TONS more gay people on FML than any other site. FML is the only site I can call someone gay and then get attacked by 15 flaming homos.
(0)Honestly, what kind of worthless degenerate would say something like this?
All you have done is show yourself as an undeniable asshole as well as purposelessly attacking homosexuals. What is wrong with you? I sound like a confused, scum of society child.
(0)you ass. He has a fear of heights. It's a perfectly natural thing, and it's not his fault. Oh and also you're a homophobe you jerk.
(0)That's what he said.
(0)Clearly fake.
#86 - On 09/01/2009 at 6:15pm by MrLazyEyes
(0)i think this is fake because it never states that this is his first ride on a ferris wheel or at any height.
at 45 he probably would already know or would be able to handle it.
if it's true, YDI for being a pussy. your kids will probably hate and fear ferris wheels from now on.
(0)If they decide to lose their enjoyment for a ferris wheel because their dad doesn't like it, then he's raising sheep, not kids.
#144 - On 02/21/2010 at 12:28am by nomnommonster
(0)I was gonna type a trollish comment, but then I PUSSIED OUT! (LIKE A BAWSH!)
Normally I would say YDI, but if you're scared of ferris wheels then that sucks. Those are the shit. FYL.
(0)if this is real then its really not his fault that , that happend
when you have a fear of something u cant control urself ad feel like ur gonna die
(i have a fear of sharks so i know what it feels like)
there is a chance that this is real because (although very unlikely) he could've just developed
a fear of heights recently....
but i seriously doubt it
also why do ppl have to say he's a pussy because he cried?
if it was a women i doubt ppl would call her that as much..
do men really have to be macho to be a real man?
seriously.....
(0)I would cry if someone made me swim in a pool....
(0) that's aiight
when I was 12 I started crying cuz i was in a rocking fairese wheel the kind that goes in circles and they had to make it go backwards just to let me out
(0)hahahah best FML i've read in like a week
(0)I went on a ferris wheel in Ocean City, Maryland once on the boardwalk and I had that happen to me too..but I was 10.
(0)Meh not really original tbqh

http://www.fmylife.com/miscellaneous/3188725
Nice try, tho LOL
(0)How do you get to 45 without realising you have a fear of heights? Have you never been up a ferris wheel, lookout, or high-rise before?
(0)well according to this FML he's now been up a ferris wheel 1 time
(0)Ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha... Oh Christ, you fucking pussy.
(0)YDI for eating spaghetti.
(0)YDI for being a pansy. And for posting this, being that you're 45 and all.
(0)LMFAO...
High Five!
FYL indeed.
(+1) I find the phrase "pussied out" offensive. Just throwing that out there.
(0)stop being a pussy. pussied out refers to a pussycat. they scare easy. and they can get pissed and claw the shit out of your face like my neighborhood strays. Which is how youre acting like a pussy. objecting because of oversensitive is never right. FoS, Freedom of Speech, is deteriorating because people don't think this or that is right to say. Not saying this is you, this is just a subject that agitates me.
(0)and I didn't mean to be aggressive when saying stop being a pussy. I was just trying to make a joke.
(0)I agree. Redrosesandrain is a cry baby. Get a sense of humor. Just cuz you're a girl doesn't mean everyone is talking about you when they say pussy.
(0)see, this pussy knows what I'm talking about. (ba dum tish) thanks.
(0)This is one the funniest FMLs I've read in awhile.
(0)Hey joe, is that your ATM pin number?
Most people who call other people fags are actually fags themselves. It's a scientific fact.... You flaming homo.
(0)lie your just a stanky money pussy woman trying to make men look bad. Go slurp feces from ur moms bumhole.
(0)#109 Way to be a complete and total sexist fucktard. I hope this happens to you but you decided to jump out instead. And I pray that if something like that happens, somebody catches it on tape so I can watch you do it over and over again. It's assholes like you that give the rest of us a bad name for the whole gender. Fuck you.
@OP Ouch, phobias can really suck, hope it doesn't happen to you again.
(0)well everyone is sexist, just to what degree. I would rather a cute girl sleeping on my shoulder in a plane than a cute guy. (Secure in my masculinity, yes I'm straight )
(0)I agree with #115 you are a fucking asshole. YOU should eat shit and die.. how about that #109?
Bye the way OP I have a few phobias.. they suck. I hope you never have to go through something like that again.
(0)Aww it's okay :)
(0)Exactly. What a bad way to discover your fears!
(0)OP, don't worry. Iwas traumatized in a swimming accident when I almost drowned. My dad made a joke about trying to throw me in our pool when I was 8, I was so afraid I ran to my room screaming and crying. I still am a superhydrophobic. I don't even like baths. I take showers because I have to, but every time I take a bath, I think I'm about to drown
(0)So it only toke you 45 years. Nice.
(0)factal you make no money, and suck throbbing cock you steaming back of slurping cunt feces. go feltch your pet from dumb bitch hole
(0)AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
(0)Dude i feel for your kids. I remember my mom did the same thing once on the water log ride. She began crying and hyperventilating. I also remember the reaction of this hot girl behind me when she saw my mom cry. Embarrassing man.

(0)Isn't it even worse that u r 45 years old and u r posting on this website? u r a scrub!
(0)"u r"??? Who are you Prince?! Not that you would get that reference i bet :/ xD Since when is that ok beyond texting without a qwerty keyboard?
(0)so far every FML comment I have made was typed on PS3. Painfully hard, worth it. Yes even this 1
(0)That's sucks. I honestly feel bad for you and your kids. I hope you talked to your kids about phobias; it's perfectly natural. People giving you the haterade replies are just ignorant and very much the product of poor education.
(0)... you fail. your 45 and just now discovered your fear of heights ? have you lived under a rock your whole life ?
(0)missing link on the internet maybe?
(0) I agree with 109'
(0)man, it's a phobia like many others said. it's not jus a plain fear.
(0)epik fail :D
(0)shut up and be a man
