Today, was my grandmother's funeral and we had to sing. My dad is a horrible singer, and I tried my hardest not to laugh, I turned red faced and tears were falling from my eyes. My step mother held my hand and said that she was in a better place. I couldn't hold it any longer. I laughed my ass off. FML

Hi everyone, person who wrote the FML here. There seems to be some sort of confusion going on around here, I didn't laugh because my stepmother said that my grandmother was in a better place, It was just the wrong thing to burst out laughing to...not that the funeral helped at all. And thanks to those who made nice comments and stupid ones. It made my day a little bit better 8D

I would have maybe buried my face in my arm pretending I was covering my tears and just smiled/chuckled it out. I hate trying to suppress the giggles, it's so damn hard! Guys, this isn't an FML just because she laughed at a funeral, it's an FML because her stepmother was extremely compassionate and serious and at that very moment she very rudely burst out in her face. All her family members might look down on her now.

when funny shit happens, laugh! life is too short to worry about who you piss off. enjoy life, your grandma would want you to. I mean, really.. you think she'd want you happy or sad? exactly! feel free to laugh away! :)

BTW, telling people to not laugh at a funeral is the same as going to a comedy club, having the person you went with fall over and die and the people in there tell you, "hey, you can't cry, this is a ******* comedy club!"

Lol, I've never been to a comedy club, but I'm pretty sure if someone were to fall over and die, most people would be thinking 'Call 911', instead of it ruining the comedy.

yeah when i get trying to be on my best i sometimes laugh at a relief of nervousness i cant control my laugh just ask my teachers
