Today, the manager I trusted most at work started hitting on me when I asked for a reference from him. He knows I have a boyfriend, as do my other coworkers who constantly make comments about me. FML

Not to be that person who yells, "Go to HR!" on every post but.... go to HR. It's always kinda sketchy/inappropriate when a manager hits on an underling. But asking for a quid pro quo (exchanging romance for references) is definitely textbook sexual harassment. This isn't a gray area or misunderstanding. You need to report him.

Um, yes, that is generally what having a boyfriend means. It means you're committed to 1 person, you're taken and not affiliating with anyone else romantically. At least you shouldn't be, or else that's cheating and you're a jerk. There are polyamorous and open relationships, but I highly doubt this is the case here because OP specifically mentioned they know about her boyfriend and is clearly upset about the situation, which means it's probably safe to assume she's in a monogamous relationship.

That is shitty of him but having a boyfriend doesn't make you unavailable.

You misread my comment, obviously its not ok to cheat, i am on a relationship for over 4 years and never cheated. When a girl just says that she has a boyfriend, that is the wrong answer. You should always say "i am not interested". And yes, the guy is a ******, he should be reported Have a nice day :)

You need to report all of that to HR. Expecially if it's not just the Manager who's doing the inappropriate behavior
