Today, needing to study for exams, I submitted a complaint about the student next door blasting 24/7 rap music. Not only was he allowed to continue, but I was written up for "disrespecting his culture". FML

Obviously some idiot social justice warrior, talk to their supervisor.

Colleges have turned into jokes. They care more about being PC than they do about being a institution of higher learning.

I'm basically liberal, and I would've complained if I some asshat was blasting their music like that. Politics has no connection to needing peace and quiet. Only the neighbours' fault that headphones weren't used.

Which culture has loud rap music???

A call to the police, campus or city, and a Disturbing The Peace warning would have given Rap Star notice of our "culture".

This FML totally doesn't look like fake news..

Why should OP have to leave their own home to study just because their neighbor is a disrespectful a-hole?

How dare you complain about someone blasting music 24/7!!!! Seriously though... you should have complained about the noise pollution and left the "type of music" out of the complaint

I love reading about all the Snowflakes that are complaining because you said "rap music"...If you said that the neighbor was blasting country or hard-rock or religious, punk, pop or any thing else they wouldn't be offended. I know when I lived in the barracks & people would be blasting rap on the weekend, my buddy would fire up Hank Williams Jr. or Charlie Daniels or some old bluegrass & drown them out...

Colleges are in and of themselves a culture of higher learning. Go higher up than your original complaint taker and remind them of that. I would imagine that culture "trumps" his any day of the week. And if not, and I were you, I'd be going to get my hair done because you'd be seeing me on the 6 o'clock news informing the surrounding area (including all those alumni with their donations *hint hint*) that the local institute of higher learning refuses to let their students, you know, LEARN so

A person's cultural heritage doesn't give them the right to disturb another's peace. Respecting another person's cultural heritage doesn't mean allowing them to walk all over you. This is a load of crap ?
