Today, my mom showed up completely hammered to a party I was throwing. The party was to celebrate the ten years that I've been sober. FML

congratulations that's awesome and ur mom was so wrong for that

Never had alcohol. Can't see the appeal of losing control. Sucks to you, OP, that your mother chose to ruin your celebration. Perhaps she is a contributing factor to your previous state. Honestly, in situations like this I have only one real solution: Move. Move far away. As far away as you can afford. Hell, sometimes it's only a few hours or the next state over that takes it. Move up to Wichita. It has the lowest CoL in the country, and it's probably too far for your mom to bother you.

Keep strong, you came too far to become an alcoholic again

You're old enough to be sober for ten years she is old enough to drink. You're old enough to handle it maturely as well. It's FML. Go to class. Be an adult. Harsh. Idc.

Sometimes the best way can do is live by example and show others there's another way to live. Sorry to hear about your mom, but congrats on your 10 years, that's huge.
