Today, my ex-girlfriend woke up from a coma that lasted a few months. Her parents called me from the hospital shortly after because she was in hysterics that I wasn't there. Apparently she thinks we're still together, and I now have to somehow break up with her again after almost a year apart. FML

Today, I woke up at my crazy ex-girlfriend's house, naked and disoriented. You know, the kind of crazy like we-didn't-break-up-it-was-just-a-fight-now-we-can-get-married crazy. She says everything's fine now and she's so glad we've "started our family." FML

Today, I met up with my 'on again, off again' girlfriend of 4 years that I'm still madly in love with. We've been broken up for a few months and she's been dating someone else. We talked about possibly trying things again. When I got home, I found out she's engaged. FML

Today, I decide to go to my ex-girlfriend's house to bring her stuff back. I broke up with her earlier this week after a 2 year relationship, and I'd hoped she would have realized her mistake and ask me to stay for a bit and talk. I ring the doorbell and her new boyfriend opens the door. FML

Today, I haven't heard from my girlfriend for over a week, after being in a relationship for 7 years with her. She'd called me, saying she had to care for her ex-husband because he had suffered a heart attack. Guess we're over. FML

Today, I just called my now ex-girlfriend to break up with her, due to our insurmountable lack of communication, even though I was in therapy for four months to try and keep the relationship afloat. Before breaking up, she'd blocked me on Facebook, Whatsapp, Twitter and Instagram for no reason. FML

Today, I woke up from an amazing dream I was having about my girlfriend. We were laughing and holding hands, the kind of dream I wanted to stay asleep for. When I finally got up, I was excited to tell her about the dream but then I remembered. We broke up a week ago. FML

Today, my mother showed up to pick something up from my house. I was sleeping and before I knew it she was in my bedroom, jumping on my bed, saying hi to my ex-girlfriend who she thought was with me. It wasn't my ex, and I doubt that girl will ever want to hang out again after that awkward morning. FML

That... really sucks. Although I think it sucks a little more for her than for you. You may not be her boyfriend any more OP but I think the break-up speech can maybe wait a bit until she's been awake for a while and got used to the world around her again. That's a long time to have been in a coma and I imagine it would take a while to adjust. The best thing you can do is be there for her now and try to keep her emotionally well. Who knows, she might remember you've broken up a little down the line. Good luck with it.

This happened to me. I had a head injury and couldn't remember that me boyfriend and I had split up. So after talking for a while he says to me, "I don't want to lead you on" and then explained to me that we were no longer together. My memory of that then came back. Talk about an awkward situation for both of us. Oh, and to clarify, my ex and I had remained friends after we broke up so it wasn't unusual for us to still talk as friends. We still remained just friends after the awkward moment too. Lol

dude yeah i think it would only be decent of you to break of with her in person. imagine it you're out for almost a year and then your doesnt even want to tell you himself he broke up with you... while and moste likely because you were in a coma?
