Shock collars are evil and reprehensible. If it's a barking issue, invest in a citronella spray collar. Both my dogs have one for when I'm not home and it's worked perfectly. I'd let myself get evicted before I put them in a shock collar, though.

YDI. Everyone who uses this on their dog should do this. There are other training methods that are misused far less often. Shock collars are used by way too many people. ( small percentage of dogs might do really well with a shock collar of used well, but I still really don't like them. Get a vibrating one instead if you want to snap the dog out of se obsession. If dog is not totally obsessed you shouldn't need it in the first place )
