Today, I was sent a letter by the vet, saying my cat was late for her yearly checkup. My cat died last week and I'd had her cremated by the same people who had sent the letter. FML

I'm so sorry for your loss, I hope things get better. :)

Snail mail? Might have already been in the mail. At least you have a nice mantle piece, to help people feel awkward at your house.

Sorry for your loss. :( I'm sure it wasn't intentional. The letter was no doubt sent before your cats passing, but sad none the less

Have yourself cremated, RIGHT NOW. I dare you.

That sucks op but I know the feeling. My cat died at the vets last year and on the bill it had a reminder that he was due for his shots in a few months. Sorry for you loss :(

Why did I get thumbed down for correcting my own spelling mistake? Lol

To me, losing a pet is just as bad as losing a family member. :( Sorry for your loss OP.

While losing a pet IS devastating, I think I would be a little more upset about losing say, my brother or mom?

Yeah, it would. But from my experiences, my pet was always there for me more than others... Wow, that made me sound forever alone. ._.

I always tear up when I imagine my kitties leaving. :( they're insensitive.

Your vet didn't send you a letter -- your vet's mail merge program cranked out thousands of form letters and they haven't updated the database this week. If you think you've been getting personal correspondence from your vet all along, um, sorry to burst your bubble.

It's awful losing a beloved pet. Those that think it's not serious have clearly never owned one. They become family and are more loyal than any human could ever be.
