Today, I was at a Buddhist shrine and wanted to light a candle for my friend who's having a rough time, when I got stung by a bee. I spent the next hour with a swollen shoulder. How does karma work again? FML

Something about your actions in previous lives affecting your caste in this life. At least originally.

It works by the bee having a sh*ty next life-

Karma isn't even a Buddhist principle for starters... YDI for not knowing the difference between Buddhism and Hinduism.

YDI for believing in karma and lighting a candle thinking about how you could profit from it.

Karama being the fact that you're in a Buddhist shrine.

You clearly were not following your dharma.

Reverse karma: whenever you do something good and karma is still the bitch you'd expect it to be

Was it a bee's wax candle? If so, karma is working fine, at least in the bees' opinion.

It is sad that you believe in this. By the logic of karma as per your belief system every single person who suffers through a natural or man made disaster deserved it. It is actually a worse theory than believing there is no reason behind things happening.
