Today, I underwent several cardiac tests involving heart monitoring nodes placed all over my chest. The lab techs didn't pre-shave the areas and yanked out big clumps of chest hair as they removed the 10 nodes. They laughed, and said it could take up to a year for the hair to grow back. FML

Hair will grow up really fast. They told you 'a year' just for fun I guess.

Well...it doesn't take a year for the hair to grow back. And yes, xgetxbentx, the techs should be shaving the spot where they're placing the lead. If it's not making contact with the skin it's not picking up the most accurate reading. And...how the hell is the patient supposed to know where to shave? If they did, they might as well do their own EKG!

It can still make contact with the skin. You don't have to shave your head for an EEG, for example. However, they ought to have some type of dissolvant for the glue instead of just ripping it off.

Just wax it all off... Mr Myogi, and those suicide doors, Ari Kari.

You can file a complaint on them. Sure, sounds like a douche thing to do, but not following procedure, and then laughing about it, is rude and they should get in trouble for it.

It'll be back in 4-6 weeks. Don't you worry
