Today, I spent my date night babysitting. After waiting three hours later than I was supposed, the mother finally gets home at 11, too late for me to get out and have any fun. Already annoyed, I take the money as she says, "I hope this is enough, I got hungry and spent some of your money." FML

Today, I babysat the most annoying and obnoxious kids for almost eight hours, when the parents assured me that they would only be gone about three or so hours. After constant calling and worrying, they finally showed up at 11:30, completely drunk. The mother paid me with three dollars and a banana. FML

Today, I babysat for a woman for the first time. When I arrived, there was a large pile of dishes in the sink. I decided to wash the dishes for her while the kids napped. She came home, noticed it, and bitched me out over how I'd only done it "to try and get more money" out of her. What? FML

Today, I babysat for my neighbor's brat kid. The mom gave me $15 for 5 hours. I complained to my mom when I got home because last time I got $15/hour. Turns out my mom had told my neighbor that she thought they'd paid me too much last time. Thanks mom. Thanks. FML

Today, I taught a kid piano for a two hour lesson. The mom left to do some errands, and by the time two hours was up, she texted me asking to watch the kid for another "15 minutes" while she returned home. No problem, she had the money too, so I stayed. Four hours later, she showed up, and refused to pay me extra. FML

Today, I went on a date that went well, until the bill came and she quickly shoved it in my direction, then went to the loo. Rude, but I thought nothing of it… until our waiter took pity and told me I’m the fourth guy she’s had this week who'd been made to pay for her. I paid half, then went home. FML

I'd tell her it wasn't. My aunt would give me like $15 for 2 hours then wouldn't come home till 4 hours later and wouldn't give me anymore.

I don't understand how parents can be so inconsiderate. If they agree to pay a certain fee they should pay it...if they agree to come home at a specific time, they should!

Call her back in the morning, tell her your hourly rate, and nicely let her know that you're expecting the rest of it. If she doesn't pony up, get a parent to call again and repeat the request in a stronger tone of voice! If you're a legal adult already, threaten legal action. Seriously. Not paying people for work done just does not fly unless we let it. Sucks, but that's the way it apparently has to be with some people. Sorry about your ruined date night, too!!

Now that was rude. She probably wouldn't do the same to someone with a "proper job" but thinks it's alright for a babysitter (especially if you're a teenager). People like that make me go grrrr.

I would have said no it wasn't enough and stayed until she got more. It was already too late to do anything, so you might as well get everything you're entitled to.
