Today, I live in a household of 3 people, with only one vehicle. My transmission blew right after working 16 straight hours. I had to walk 6 miles home, not to mention figure out work tomorrow. Now my oldest, who does not live with me, is pissed because it is an "inconvenience" for her. FML

Some people don’t just use their car for transport to and from work. Being a community carer I use my car to drive FOR work. Without my car I see none of the clients who are waiting for support to go about their daily lives, thus no car-no work. If I was in this situation, it would seriously suck. Good luck OP, maybe your eldest daughter needs a reminder of all the inconvenient trips you did for her when she was a kid.

It costs $40 one way to get an uber to my doctor appointments. Not everyone lives where it is easy to be without a car. Not to mention, depending on the time of night, I cannot even get an uber here.

There's been a lot of people on here lately who need to be introduced to Uber or who just really like to got for long walks.

Unless it’s just a few miles, uber and lyft are pretty expensive.

My husband gets off work at 3am. No car means he walks 3 miles after 12 hours working in a factory.

Not all places have access to uber. That's fine in a big American city, or whatever, but I don't have access to uber outside of 3 major cities in my area.. All 2-4 hours away. Also no taxi service. I would have to bum a ride to work or walk 22 km.

Or a lot of people who don’t find it easy to add Uber expenses to an already tight budget.
