Today, I got let go from my job, because my personal cell phone doesn't always have signal, so I missed an important call from work. My contract specifically said I'd get a work phone, which never happened. FML

Well that's something you should take to court. If it's in the contract then they will have to give you your job back and the phone.

A successful lawsuit depends on which state you live in. In my state for example, you can be fired at any time without reason.

Only to certain extent, though. It's also the company's responsibility to hold up their end of the bargain. For all we know, OP brought it up regularly and got told the phone was on its way every time, or something along those lines. If you ask about it and they say they're working on it then that's all you can do. After that it's their job to actually follow through.

reread the contract. if it specifically says that you were to be given a work phone they can't legally fire you

If you actually have a contract then you should get a lawyer, you definitely have an actionable claim to make.

Go to HR or sue. I seriously font see how this is your fault.

Sue the **** out of them. If they do it to you, they'll do it to others. Be the change. If you have one chance to make something better, TAKE IT!!

Point that out and take them to labour board you'll be paid out
