I had earwigs crawl out of my flute while I was playing once. I guess they liked it inside because it was dark and damp. Nightmare material.

Maggots can live anywhere, including inside of living animals...eugh

Oh it's probably the reed. I never leave spit in my trumpet because of that. I always empty it before putting it away
