Today, I found out my grandfather died via Facebook, because apparently both my father and my aunt think posting a status about it immediately rather than calling family is the thing to do. FML

Both your father and aunt are insensitive idiots. Sorry for your loss OP.

That is so insensitive. "Hey look everyone, Grandpa died! #YOLO" I'm sorry for your loss, OP. I truly am.

Didn't you know that fishing for likes and comments first is more important than sensitivity? I can't stand Facebook sometimes.

But it's not official until you post it on facebook, just like engagements. Who cares what doctors go around "pronouncing."

Tell them your grievances in the comments.

How many people "liked" it? When I first read this, I thought Mark Zuckerberg killed your grandpa.

Grammar saves lives. "Lets eat, Grandma!" vs. "Lets eat Grandma!"

Well, Grandma will save lives too, if she was to be eaten.

I know the feeling. I found out via a family member's Facebook status that one of my relatives had passed. It's really shattering to find out that way. Sorry for your loss, OP :(

So sorry for your loss OP and that you had to find out about it in such a tasteless manner.

Not sure to click "like" to show my condolences or to show satisfaction that he died.

Social networking is killing this world. Lol.

You always Inform the family and never post on Facebook...

I'm sorry OP. I feel for you. I found out about my aunt dying on Facebook. Not the best way to find out.
