Guys, "I found out..." means that you gained firsthand knowledge. It doesn't mean OP was blindly flailing around with no idea of what the chemicals did. It's a figure of speech. Just like "I found out just how heavy an elephant is when it stood on my foot." That doesn't mean you thought elephants were feather light before and were asking for trouble. It means something happened to really drive the point home directly through experience rather than intellectual knowledge.
