Today, I attempted to ask a girl out by doing a flash mob and singing for her in the store where she works. Turns out, she suffers from anxiety and the overwhelming amount of attention caused a panic attack. No, I didn't get a date. FML

Why go all out when something as simple as you saying "will you go out with me?" would work? Save that shit for marriage proposals.

Well, maybe try to tone down the extravagant gestures towards people you don't know very well yet? I hope she appreciated the effort, though....

Panic attack aside, you violated her privacy in terms of bringing the personal life into the workplace. That should be her call and at her discretion. I can't imagine her boss would sanction your behavior either.

It is also possible that the girl in question might get trouble at work too. Plenty of companies in the U.S. have policies against stuff like this. On side note: why would OP have a flash mob and sing? As a member of the fairer sex I would be turned off if someone had done that to me.

Probably should've just asked her out in normal fashion, but you can never get mad at a guy who tries going all out for the girl he wants

The hell you can't. If I'd had a panic attack as a result of some guy's dumbass stunt, I'd be pissed. Actually, I'd be pissed even without the panic attack.

commendable. more than other guys would do.

That's so sweet! At least you tried. I'm sure she saw you must of really liked her. Bummer though

Hey, you didn't know. Those aren't that easy to organize. Hopefully once she calms down, she'll appreciate your effort. I would have been flattered! Especially if you did "Closing Time" at the end of my work shift. Those that linger after hours at my job drive me nuts! "You don't have to go home but you can't stay here I know who I want to take me home" :P

You're an amazing human being, date or no date.

I think it would've been easier if you just simply asked her. Especially if she didn't have anxiety and after the whole charade she said no. You would look bad and people would look at her as a bad person as well. It's easier to get turned down or up privately.

YDI for not knowing. You should know before hand
