Today, as I have done for many years, I want to lose weight. The problem is, I stress eat. Thinking about losing weight makes me stress, which makes me eat. Making me fatter than ever. I can't stop this cycle. FML

Perhaps try to replace the food in your house then if you can't replace the cycle, an important part of losing weight isn't just workouts it's also diet changes. I'm not saying you need to starve yourself but rather than having a tempting bag of chips laying around, perhaps ditch the chips and buy some apples that you can replace them with. A nice small snack you can also have are celery with a little bit of peanut butter and extra points if you use low fat peanut butter. They have food like veggie sticks but I'm not sure how good those are for you and they definitely aren't as good as the real thing. Also don't forget to drink plenty of water, and don't overwork :) good luck with shedding those pounds, and don't let an eating cycle discourage you

Instead of eating when you get stressed change that stress into eating. For example when you think of eating when you're stressed switch it to going to work out or go for a run.

There are a number of online support communities for people trying to lose weight including ones that address psychological eating. I highly recommend visiting these sites and finding a supportive community. I'm down 70lbs from my highest weight with plenty more still to go.

You might want to look into The Power of Habit by Charles Duhigg. It has helped me a LOT with weight loss and other things as well. Here's the gist of what it's about: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W1eYrhGeffc

I suggest at the start of the week cut up healthy food like apples and stuff. put them in little snap lock bags same with any healthy snack and put them in a bowl next to your couch. that way if your hungry you don't have to get up and your being healthy

I used to have this! What changed it is replacing it with exercise and eating more (but less calorific) food. Protein fills you up but helps you get toned. Start off with exercise videos - you can find them on YouTube - it's really fun! Good luck!

I understand what you are going through. It sucks, and I happen to know from personal experience. To reduce stress, drink tea made from chamomile and lemon balm in the evening. In the morning, take some type of Siberian ginseng supplement or tea (NOT Asian or American ginseng!). These will help mitigate the stress factor. Of course, it is up to you what you do after that, to help yourself.

Yeah change what you eat. You can't feel bad about eating a bag of snap peas, but you can feel bad about pounding a bag of doritos. Even if you don't change your food, I'll tell you right now that you can make a huge change by replacing any sugary drinks- juice included- with water. You'd be surprised how much calories you're probably drinking. Ultimately your body will reflect your attitude. Change the way you think and you'll find everything to be a bit easier each day. Good luck!

If you're an emotional eater, I suggest seeing a therapist to address the reasons behind the eating. That and learning not to hate my body as it was were how I managed to lose 30 lbs. Also, I now manage a lot of my anxiety by working out, so that helps to keep the weight off. Good luck!

I would make appointment with a nutritionist and talk with a professional about your stress problem. Hope this helps

Baby carrots and ranch are what I replaced chips with because they're so easy. Apples are good too, but they bad faster. Replacing crackers with mixed nuts actually helped my weight go down because of the amount I needed for satisfaction. Drink a small glass of water before every snack session too. These things helped me to go from 275 to 240 so far. I added some weight lifting and jogging but it hasn't been very consistent . . .or often. To keep it honest heh.
