Today, I finally told my dad about how I've been diagnosed with clinical depression. He began to recite a commercial for depression meds, but he couldn't finish because he was overwhelmed with laughter. FML

I also have clinical depression, so as someone who understands, I must ask. Did it occur to you that he may have been trying to make you laugh about a shitty situation? The commercials do tend to be a little funny.

But he was laughing so hard he couldn't finish his sentence. That doesn't sound as if he was feeling very sorry for the OP. That or the commercial was indeed hilarious.

Good luck op. people don't understand that anxiety/depression disorders are very real and aren't something you can smile your way out of.
