Today, my son broke his arm roughhousing with his brother on a bunk bed. While at the ER, he thought it would be funny to tell a different story to each doctor and nurse, forcing me to speak over him. They found this behavior "suspicious" and reported us to child services. FML

Today, I had to explain to a hospital social worker that my young son is not abused, he is just rowdy and that he knocked himself unconscious and shattered 4 teeth in a bizarre stunt involving a tree, my ironing board, a mop bucket and lots of duct tape. I'm not sure the hospital believes me. FML

Today, we had the cops called on us because my son was panicking so much about his first COVID jab, his older sister got fed up, took him outside, put him in a headlock and choked him unconscious so the nurse could jab him. Instead, the nurse called the cops. FML

Today, my 12 year-old son came home with two broken arms after finding an awesome place to ride his bike. He found a sweet jump and his handlebars broke. He's currently in slings and waiting for an appointment with a surgeon, the breaks were so bad, the hospital couldn't reset them. FML

Today, our mom hit my brother's head hard against the wall. He was taken to the hospital with a head wound. He came home in the evening, and said that his mom told him to say that it was his sister who'd hit him with a ball. My brother had told me the story and I'd recorded it on a tape recorder. FML

Today, I was babysitting 3 toddlers. I wanted to entertain them by making them laugh, but nothing worked. Later on, I started down the stairs, but tripped and tumbled down. I realized I have broken my arm and bruised my knees. I also realized that kids think it's hilarious when you get injured. FML

Whoaaaa. That behavior is toxic as **** and trivialized with that “just a prank bro” bullshit. In general, people often take “pranks” too far and they’re really just excuses to be sociopathic bullies. And in this specific case, I get that the kid was trying to be funny and had no idea it would be taken that far, but it will NEVER be funny for the parents. Investigated for child abuse? Stressed out, thinking you may lose your kid or kids, needing to take time off work and possibly needing to hire a lawyer to fight it, lots of time, money, stress, and headaches...I don’t know how much time would ever need to pass for that to ever be funny. I mean Jesus I could run you over with a car and say “It’s just a prank, bro, walk it off, LULZZZ!!!🤣🤣” and that would be fine? Shit isn’t that extreme but people get pretty close with these “pranks” and everyone else needs to stop excusing them. Not necessarily the case this this kid, but there is something wrong with extreme prancing mentality in general.

I never disregarded that point by downplaying it with your misguided "it's just a prank bro" argument thus your pithy is unnecessary.
