Self diagnosed

Today, I proved my doctor wrong. I've been having difficulty breathing for 3 months. When it started, she said it was anxiety. I knew that wasn't the case, but I did what she said. A few weeks later, I told her during a follow-up that I thought it might be my phrenic nerve. She laughed. The physio confirmed it today. FML

It's such a low when a doctor doesn't listen to their patient. It's happening to us, so we have every right to explore all possible causes for our ailments. It's especially heinous when it's a female doctor not listening to a female patient; women aren't taken as seriously by doctors as men, and female doctors must be aware of it.

This is why they call it a medical "practice."
