People of Walmart

By drano - This FML is from back in 2009 but it's good stuff - United States

Today, at work as a cashier, a guy came up with a cart full of stuff and it took me 10 minutes to ring it all up. When I told him his total, he felt his pockets, said, "Oh shit, I forgot my wallet!" and walked off. He left about 15 bags worth of things for me to put back. FML

"Today, I went to the store. I spent hours finding all the stuff I needed, and it was so much that it took the cashier ten minutes to ring up. Then I realized I forgot my wallet. FML"

you fail because it took you 10 minutes to do 15 bags.

10 minutes is a LONG time. You are either really slow, exaggerated, or this is fake.

10 minutes for some people at a grocery store isn't as long as you would think. I used to work at a warehouse store and it could easily take ten minutes for that kind of shenanigans. I feel your pain, kid. That's happened to me several times.

takes me ten minuts to do a $300-$400 order. That's more than 15 bags. Clearly you are slow. Or new. New people are usually slow. It takes me five to do a 150 dollar order and that's if the customer is paying attention to the MSR screen (the thing that you swipe your card with) or already have their method of payment out and ready. I have this happen to me all the time. Yes, it bothers me and sometimes I wonder what the heck those customers were thinking when they left their wallet at home or in the car and they decide they want to go grocery shopping. No we do not take imaginary money, and no we can't just poof your groceries to a safe place or back onto the shelves. We work our butts off for you guys to have a nice meal and to keep you guys happy. That's our job and everyone should respect that. But clearly they are irresponsible for going shopping without a wallet or any form of payment on them. There is always this one customer I see that goes through the self checkouts and every time, she scans all her things, walks up to the cashier and tells them that she left her wallet in the car. Many times I've had to suspend the transaction and bag her things for her and set them off to the side so the crowds wouldn't get backed up. Every once in a while is no big deal but if it happens often, they have a problem. Cashiers are not your maid service. Do not blame us for items not scanning up right. It's the computer's fault for not recognizing the price or the item. Oh and for the girl that was irritated with the customer for leaving his wallet at his house: finish up the order, bag everything or if someone bags it for you, suspend the transaction if possible and take it to the service desk or call a supervisor. Usually they'll have someone take care of it for you so your work won't get backed up. If they tell you to take care of the items, then do so. :]

any chance that the man who left his wallet also posted an FML ?

Lmao! But thats sooo sad, ugh he is a jerk

I'm ashamed to say, when I worked at a grocery store as a department manager, my job was to do exactly that. I would time the cashier and hide stuff in shoes bags ect and the store managers and I would compare times and if the cashier caught everything there. Might not have been an ahole.
