That's not the way rom-coms works. He'll likely be your dentist, you'll get stuck in an elevator with him, or you'll be invited to his wedding as someone's plus-one. It sounds like your date was just not that into you. Unfortunately sometimes that’s something that can happen. While it was inconsiderate on his part, it is better than him telling you the date was off as soon as he spoke with you or jumping out a bathroom window to escape. Not every couple matches up to be a good combination, sometimes we have to just accept it wasn’t meant to be and move on.
