Today, at work, a customer came in. Since I was behind the counter, I asked if she needed help with anything. I've worked there for five years, and I didn't recognize my own boss. FML

I do that all the time (deliberately) at my work. Just laugh it off and say it was a joke.

Poor management if you don't know them! Dw I made my regional manager stand outside the counter for an hour because he didn't have his company id and I didn't know who he was lol
