Delayed

By melyeah - 02/03/2013 14:14 - Australia - Sydney

Today, to avoid a massive delay on our scheduled flight at the airport, we were generously moved to an earlier flight home. An hour later, our new flight had been cancelled and they told us we'd be stuck at the airport overnight. Our original flight took off fine. FML

Time really does fly and so does the flight you should have taken.

Hopefully you are stuck in a nice, big airport, not one of those god awful ones with stained carpets and a creepy hobo hanging out by the one and only vending machine.

This only proves my theory that airlines are run by dentists: evil ******* made of pure malice that thrive on human suffering.

Dentists: Also known as failed med students, filled with loathing and resentment.

"It took off fine". Just wait OP. it's like Final Destination, you weren't destined to get on that flight.

*looks around searching* Where's Ali Larter who got held up with me... Damn it.

That sucks... Well hopefully things turn out all right tomorrow. In the meantime though I wouldn't stay in the airport. If you can, you should find a place close by

I would have been suspicious when they offered the earlier flight especially since the original flight was "massively delayed". Always look beyond the obvious.

I normally buy travel insurance. It would compensate and provide amenities for you in a situation like that. Normally only costs about $50.

Hoping it wasnt an emergency, the airlines Should compensate by booking you into a hotel or something.

"Hey we screwed the original passengers, let's provide convenient rooms for them to relax till their departure time" -Said no airport officials ever. Scumbags. FYL

They were testing your loyalty to your original flight and you failed, so they punished you by taking away the bait. When your flight faces adversity, you need to stand by it and gut it out. Don't ditch it for some flashy new flight you don't even know!

We have a term for that in England, Sod's Law.
