Today, my company is doing so bad that I had to take down my symbolic first dollar so that I could buy a roll of crackers for dinner. FML

Ouch... I'm sure things will get better. If you need extra cash, I suggest that you have a yard sale, sell stuff on Ebay, or write articles for the Sun Magazine (Which can get you up to $2000 per article). There are also a buttload of apps that suggest ways to make money online or fairly easily. If all else fails, chin up, OP. Also, you could have at least gotten bread for toast or frozen mozzarella sticks from the 99cent store, assuming you live near one or something similar (perhaps The Dollar Tree?). And don't forget, dollar menus can be your best friend. Other than that, things get better. Don't beat yourself up. You're only human.
